Text after text. At first he thought I was throwing a tantrum.

His words carried blame. Later-probably after hearing something from my parents—his tone shifted. Worry. Panic.

me together.

Tiffany patted her chest. Confident.

“Don’t worry. We won’t. We’ve worked it out.”

Asher nodded too.

Asher. Shyness. Interest.

Female intuition. Something had happened between them.
