No Longer the Alpha’s Guardian Chapter 07

No Longer the Alpha’s Guardian Chapter 07

I woke up in agony.

Every inch of my body screamed.

Ceiling first. Then the sticky wetness under me. Blood.

I shifted, gritted my teeth, and crawled to my desk for my phone.

I had been ready for this from the moment I walked in.

I knew Kelly might try to frame me. So I recorded everything.

I just never thought I’d capture Elijah hurting me himself. Ordering my punishment.

The maid, Emily, snuck in late. When she saw me, she gasped.

“Luna! Oh my God—how could Alpha be so cruel?”

She handed me a small bottle. “I traded for this at the market. It will flush the silver poison out of your system.”

“Emily. Thank you.”

I drank it down. The suffocating burn of silver began to fade. My wounds started to close. My wolf lifted its head again.

I got up and pulled out the suitcase I’d packed weeks ago.

“Luna, where are you going?” Emily’s voice cracked.

I met her worried eyes, my own voice flat as still water. “Don’t call me

that anymore. Elijah and I have severed the bond.”

“What?” She was horrified. “Don’t blame him—he’s just… confused. He loves you so much. He would never really break the bond.”

Love.

I don’t want his love anymore.

I didn’t answer. I just emailed Elijah the video—Kelly’s whole performance.

Then I deleted our entire chat history. Blocked him everywhere.

When I was done, I told Emily, “Make sure he checks his email. There’s one last gift in there for him.”

Emily nodded, crying. “Okay, Luna. I will.”

I called Mark, the Beta of the Moon Shadow Pack.

“Mark. I need the dissolution certificate as fast as possible.”

“Yes, miss. You’ll have it by tomorrow at the latest.”

“Also, send a car to the Midnight pack house. I’m coming home.”

“Right away, miss.”

I hung up and called a moving company.

“Every piece of furniture in this house with a tag on it. Take half.”

The mover looked confused. “Ma’am, you want us to take half of the

sofa? Half the bar? Half the coffee table?”

“Yes. Even if you have to saw it in half. I want my half.”

“But it won’t be usable if we cut it.”

“Then throw it away.”

I picked up my suitcase and walked out of the house where I’d lived for five years.

Mark was already outside with the car.

He saw me and his face went dark. “Miss, how did you get so badly hurt? Did Alpha Elijah do this? If your parents knew—”

“Mark. I’m tired. Take me home.”

“Yes. Right away. I’ll have a pack healer waiting.”

The car pulled away from the Midnight pack house.

I didn’t look back. My eyes were cold. Empty.

Elijah, from this day on, we owe each other nothing. Our paths will never cross again.
