My Unfaithful Ex Accused Me of Cheating Chapter 01

My Unfaithful Ex Accused Me of Cheating Chapter 01 He Thought I Still Belonged to Him

My husband, Derek Vaughn, had gone overseas for cancer treatment. On his birthday, I flew out in secret, hoping to surprise him.

Instead, I found him living with my best friend, Serena Blake—and a little girl.

Whatever love I still had left died on the spot. I divorced him without hesitation, then accepted the proposal my parents had arranged from Julian Cross, the notoriously private heir to one of Ellington’s most powerful families.

Five years later, on New Year’s Eve, I had just walked out of an adult boutique when Derek/newly returned from overseas, appeared in front of me.

He snatched the shopping bag from my hand without warning.

The moment he saw the box of ultra–thin condoms inside, fury exploded across his face.

“Maya Reed, you f*cking cheated on me?!”

I stepped back.

“Mr. Vaughn, watch yourself. We’re divorced.”

His brows drew tight.

“Divorced? How could you divorce me when I wasn’t even here? What man was so good in bed that he gave you the nerve to leave me?”

Serena, standing beside him, sighed dramatically.

“Maya, Derek fought cancer overseas all these years because he wanted to recover and come back to you. Even if you couldn’t stand being alone, you shouldn’t have gone looking for some random man. Forget how badly that would hurt Derek–what if you’d caught AIDS?”

I looked from Serena to the little girl beside her.

My voice turned cold.

“Serena, I treated you like my closest friend. I never imagined the two of you would even have a child—”

A slap cut me off.

My head snapped aside.

The hit was so hard that blood immediately appeared at the corner of my mouth.

Derek’s face was dark with rage.

“Shut up! I gave you too much freedom. Cheating on me while we were married was bad enough, and now you’re trying to ruin Serena’s reputation too.”

The next second, he caught a fistful of my hair and jerked my head backward.

His eyes were bloodshot.

“Say it. Who the f*ck is he?”

I sucked in a sharp breath through the pain and gave him a cold smile.

“That’s none of your business, Derek.”

If my parents had not used their connections to force the divorce paperwork through five years ago, I might never have escaped him.

After the divorce, I followed their wishes and married Julian.

He treated me better than I had ever imagined.

We even had boy–girl twins together.

I had no interest in explaining any of that while Derek was assaulting me in the street.

I pulled out my phone to call the police.

Serena ripped it from my hand.

“You’re still calling the police after cheating on Derek? Do you want the whole world laughing at him?”

Then her eyes landed on my lock screen.

Her voice shot up.

“What? You even had twins with that man?”

Derek glanced at the family photo on my screen.

Julian, me, and our two children.

His rage went through the roof.

He kicked me viciously in the lower abdomen.

“You b*tch! You actually gave another man two little b’stards. Fine. That’s f*cking fine!”

He grabbed an iron bar from nearby and swung it at me.

Before I could react, agony ripped through my lower back.

My whole body shook.

I glared at him through the pain.

“Shut your mouth. Don’t you dare say Julian’s name like that!“.

Julian Cross was almost never seen in public, despite being one of the most powerful heirs in Elington’s elite circle.

Right after I divorced Derek, Julian had agreed to marry me.

Deck seized my hair again.

Ignoring the pain he was causing, he dragged me into an abandoned alley.

He looked down at me with open contempt.

“You think you’re good enough for Julian Cross? Like a man like him would ever want a woman I’ve alread used up.”

I was so weak from the pain that my voice barely carried.

“Julian… really is my husband. Legally. Give me my phone… I’ll call him…”

That only made Derek angrier.

He smashed my phone against the ground.

“Stubborn won’t save you. I’ve got plenty of ways to make you tell the truth.”
