My Sister Popped The Bubble Of My Happy Marriage Chapter 07

At six the next morning, the post I had scheduled went live.

No crying. No insults. Just evidence.

Screenshots of Dante and Serafina’s messages three seconds apart. Chat logs of my parents covering their

tracks. And the audio from that family dinner.

Dante’s voice was especially clear. “The marriage continues. The baby stays. You’re still Mrs. Rinaldi, but I

will not be separated from Serafina.”

Every word was something they had said themselves. The post spread through New York’s family circles and

business circles fast.

Dante’s business partners called one after another. Santoro relatives and friends started asking questions. Matteo’s financing talks were put on hold. Several investors who had been ready to join the project demanded a fresh risk review.

Father smashed a glass, and his first move was to order me to take the post down.

Mother sent dozens of voice messages, over and over, accusing me of ignoring the family’s face and driving

Serafina to the edge.

Serafina soon posted a long statement.

She claimed she and Dante had feelings for each other early on. To give her sister a chance, she had given

up that relationship on her own. For years, she had carried the pain alone and never intended to destroy my

marriage.

Now she had merely reconnected with an old friend, and her jealous sister had maliciously smeared her.

Sympathy for her started showing up in the comments.

Ten minutes later, I added the audio from the club’s staff corridor.

Serafina’s voice came through clear.

“The whole family doesn’t love her. She only has me.”

Then came the chat logs of her covering Dante’s tracks and helping him make up excuses.

The image of the self-sacrificing victim she had worked so hard to build collapsed fast.

Someone asked her in the comments: If you really treated your sister as the most important person, why did you speak up for her while watching her wonder if she was losing her mind?

Serafina turned off comments.

Dante started contacting me frantically. He tracked down my new number and finally got through.

“Celeste, take the post down. Now.”

I didn’t answer.

After a moment, his tone softened. “We can talk about this. The baby, I won’t hold that against you. Just

come back. We’ll talk face to face.”

I had to laugh. “The baby belongs to the Rinaldi family. Then who do I belong to?”

The line went quiet.

I told him I had ended the pregnancy.

The crib he had picked out would never have anyone sleeping in it.

Dante’s breathing went ragged.

“Where are you? Give me the address. I’ll come get you.”

On his end, I could hear Serafina’s muffled crying. But this time, he didn’t turn to comfort her right away.

I said calmly, “You didn’t lose a child. You pushed me and that child out the door yourself.”

Then I hung up.

In the New York townhouse, Serafina reached for Dante. He looked at her and slowly pulled his hand away.
