Sure enough, the host went straight for the trending story.

“So, Chloe. That post last night. You told your ‘baby boy’ to slow down. What was that about?”

Chloe’s cheeks flushed. She pressed a hand over her smile.

“He gets so excited when he sees me. I’m always worried he’ll trip over himself.”

The host grinned knowingly and leaned in.

“Your baby boy, huh? Funny, because he looks an awful lot like a certain golden retriever we all saw last night. So…”

Chloe buried her face in her hands, giggling.

“I can’t say anything yet…”

“lol she basically confirmed it yesterday. Why’s the host still playing dumb?”

“Wait, he’s had a crush on Chloe since he was eighteen, but apparently she was already taken back then?? I never stood a chance smh.”

“lmaooo you think you can compete with Alexander Kensington?? Sit down.”

The host shot Chloe a teasing look.

Then she moved on to the next segment.

“So we’ve got a little segment here where you call the first person in your Favorites list, and we invite them to come cheer you on in person.”

“What do you say? Should we hear that special someone’s voice? Maybe your ‘baby boy’ will pick up?”

Chloe hesitated.

“He’s overseas right now, so there’s a time difference, but I can try.”

The camera zoomed in on her phone.

The name at the top of her Favorites was Alexander.

The live chat exploded all over again.

He picked up on the first ring. His voice came through low and warm.

“Hello.”

Chloe’s voice went soft immediately.

“Alexander, are you busy?”

Two sentences, and the live chat was already losing it.

“His voice is SO attractive, oh my god.”

“I’ve seen his photos. Gorgeous, rich, AND his voice sounds like that?? Chloe is living everyone’s dream rn.”

Chloe peeked at the live chat, blushed deeper, and dropped her voice even lower.

“Alexander, are you still overseas? I’m filming a show right now. Any chance you could stop by?”

“Ms. Danvers, Mr. Kensington is in a meeting right now. He won’t be able to attend the taping.”

Chloe’s smile stiffened for a fraction of a second before she recovered.

“Oh, Arthur! Hi. So when’s he coming back?”

Before Arthur Jenkins could answer, a boarding announcement came through the speaker.

Chloe perked up. “Wait. You’re flying back right now?”

“Yes.”

Chloe lit up.

“Got it. Safe travels. See you soon.”

She hung up.

Chloe turned to the host with an exaggerated shrug.

“What can I say? The man never stops working.”

The host raised an eyebrow.

“So when did he fly out? It must be the middle of the night there, right? And he’s already heading back? Something pretty urgent must be pulling him home.”

Chloe pouted, burying her face in her hands again.

“Oh, I don’t know. He’s probably got something important going on.”

“I did tell him about the show today, but there’s no way he’d come all this way just for that.”

“HOLD ON, did I hear that right?? Is he flying back overnight to SURPRISE HER??”

“I can literally picture it. Him dropping everything and catching a red-eye just to show up for her. I’m SOBBING.”

“I can’t cope. This is literally a billionaire romance novel playing out in real time.”

I watched the live chat scroll by.

I rolled my eyes so hard it hurt.

No way.

Was this really the same Alexander they were all fawning over?
