My Mate Sent Me to Asylum Chapter 04

My Mate Sent Me to Asylum Chapter 04

The fire exit. A stairwell. I found two bodies there. Half undressed.

Charles had Iris pinned against the wall. He was kissing her like he wanted to eat her alive.

“You bastards!” I screamed.

I lunged. Grabbed Iris by the hair. Slapped Charles across the face. “Why? Why are you doing this to me?”

“You prepped my clothes! You planted it! Why!”

“Enough!” Charles shoved me back and pulled Iris against him. Tears streamed down her face.

“Nova. It’s not Charles’s fault. It’s mine. I know I’ve hurt you.”

“I know it’s wrong. But I can’t help it. Charles, he…”

I wanted to tear her apart. I was the one who brought her into the pack. I taught her everything. And she stole everything.

“Stop acting out.” Charles wrapped his jacket around her. “I planned all of it.”

I stumbled back. “Why? Why would you do that?”

“You already have everything.” He didn’t even look at me. “Iris has nothing.”

“Iris and I are together now.” He paused. “Since the day you lost the baby.”

“Your mother knows. She doesn’t have a problem with it. She said if you can’t handle it, we break the

bond.”

Something inside me snapped.

I don’t remember leaving. The next week was a blur.

My mother publicly banished me from the pack. Charles and Iris were everywhere together.

My face was plastered all over the news.

To prove my innocence, I tracked down the event judge. I found the security footage.

And right when I had the evidence. Charles locked me in a psychiatric hospital.

His face was cold.

“Iris is still young. You want to ruin her life? Haven’t you taken enough?” Charles and I were fated mates.

Our wolves recognized each other the first time we met.

And now. He was destroying me for another woman.

I dropped to my knees. Begged.

“Do you have any idea what that competition meant to me?”

“It was my birthday. You said you’d get me something. I don’t want anything. Just clear my name.

Please.”

“Nova.” He pulled his hand away. “I think you need to calm down.”

They strapped me down. Pushed me into a room. The torture started then.

A month later. The hospital caught fire.

Everyone died.

I made it out. But my face was burned beyond recognition. My wolf vanished too. I couldn’t even heal myself. “Iris. Apologize to Luna and you can come back to us.”

Charles’s voice yanked me back to the present.

Everyone was staring. Waiting for the show.

I looked at Charles. Raised an eyebrow. “Who was right and who was wrong back then. You know better

than anyone.”

His face went pale.

I turned and walked out without looking back.

“Nova!” Charles chased me all the way to the parking garage.

“I’ve regretted it every day. I can’t sleep. I need pills just to close my eyes.”

“…”

I opened the car door. He moved toward the passenger side.

I blocked him. “Alpha Charles. I’ve got a mate waiting. And he’s not big on uninvited guests.”
