My Mate Killed Me For My Sister, I Became Luna Of His Enemy Chapter 14 Begging For Forgiveness

Silas’s POV

She was alive.

The thought crashed through my mind.

How could that be? I’d seen her dead body. She couldn’t be alive. She’d died. The wizard had taken her into the forest. To perform a death ritual.

Yet, here she was. Alive, breathing, standing in my banquet hall.

And more beautiful than I’d ever seen her.

For a moment I stood frozen to the spot. But then I moved.

I stepped around the head table. My body was moving faster than my thoughts. The crowd parted. I walked through their silence like a man in a daze. My eyes were locked on her face.

She was different.

That was the first thing that I noticed. This was not the Bella I knew. The Bella I knew was quiet. She sunk into the corner of rooms, into the shadows.

This woman was…

She had presence.

It was more than physical though. There was something about the way she held the room. She was authoritative. Mesmerizing. Hypnotic almost.

She watched me approach. Her gray eyes tracked my movement with the cold. Her face was expressionless.

I stopped three feet in front of her.

“You’re alive.” My voice cracked. “How….the wizard…I saw your dead body.”

The crowd inhaled collectively. They stared at her in stunned silence. Not a single person spoke.

I opened my mouth. The I closed it. I didn’t know what to say.

But then the words tumbled out of me, uncontrolled. I was stripped of the Alpha composure I usually had. “I found the medical report. The Viscusos. I know about it. I believe you now. I really do. I know I should have…I should have listened. I should have believed you then. I should have…”

I reached for her hand. Desperately. The way a drowning man reaches for a rope.

A grip closed around my wrist.

The man beside her reached out and his hand clamped down with crushing force on my wrist. He stopped my reach mid-motion. His amber eyes blazed. Alpha energy rolled off him like a heat wave. It was so thick, it pressed against my skin. My wolf flattened its ears.

“You don’t get to touch her.”

His voice was a growl. The wolves nearest us flinched. They took a step back.

Who was this man?

My own wolf surged. He was territorial and he reacted to another alpha wolf in his own territory.

My eyes burned and I felt the shift pressing at my skin. Baxter was clawing to get

out.

“Who are you?” I asked, pushing my wolf down.

“I’m Caleb,” he said. “Alpha of the Thorn Cliff Pack.”

The moment he said Thorn Cliff Pack, my chest deflated.

The Thorn Cliff Pack was powerful. They were one of the strongest packs around.

I pulled my hand back.

My eyes went from Caleb to Bella. And that’s when I saw it.

The way they stood together. Close. Aligned.

Their energy was synced.

My matebond with Bella was gone. I’d assumed it was because she’d died. But seeing these two together, I began to wonder.

It was too much. I needed her. I wanted her back. She didn’t belong to this man, to this stranger. She was mine.

The Moon Goddess had chosen her for me. She belonged to me.

Before I knew what I was doing, I dropped to my knees.

The crowd gasped. There I was, an Alpha on my knees. In his own hall, in front of his entire pack, kneeling before the woman he’d thrown away.

I’d never knelt for anyone. Not the elders, not the council, not the Moon Goddess herself. But I was kneeling on cold stone looking up at Bella. The words came pouring out of me.

“I was wrong. About everything. About Madison. About the ritual. About the sickness. About you. I believed a lie and I let you suffer. I never should have done that.” My voice broke again. I didn’t care. “In the dungeon, when you asked if I loved you, I lied. I lied, Bella. I did love you. I was just… please. Forgive me. I’m so sorry, Bella.”

“Get up.” She looked down at me, her eyes cold, her voice flat. “You’re embarrassing yourself.”

I looked up at her face. Her face was cold. There wasn’t a trace of sympathy or emotion.

The woman who’d loved me was dead. The woman standing before me was someone else entirely. Someone I’d created through my own cruelty and neglect.

But I wasn’t done.

I reached for her skirt, clinging onto to it. Maybe if I apologized, maybe she’d see that I’d made a terrible mistake.

“Madison is gone,” I said. “She’s exiled. You can come back. I’ll name you Luna. Please. I’ll do anything for you. Just please…”

“That’s enough,” she snapped at me. “Stop grovelling for something you can’t

have.”

“And what’s that?” I asked, looking up at her.

She glared down at me.

“Forgiveness,” she said.

Then she did the unthinkable. She brushed right past me.

She left me there, on my hands and knees, on the cold ground.

With the other man, Caleb, she walked through the crowd, past all the stunned faces. Her head was held high. She went towards the main table, my table, and to my utter shock, she walked around it and stood in front of my seat.

Our eyes locked. Her lips twisted into a sly smile. She raised her eyebrow. Caleb stood beside her. They were both regal. Both imposing.

Both powerful.

Her eyes scanned the crowd. Everyone looked at her, their eyes locked on this beautiful, powerful woman with the strong alpha by her side.

And suddenly, I knew. I understood.

The realization hit me like a punch in the chest. She stood there, at my seat, in

front of the entire pack with a demure look on her face. My blood ran cold. My heart pounded in my chest.

She hadn’t come back here for an apology. She’d come back for something much, much worse.

She’d come back to claim my pack.
