My Mafia Ex-Boyfriend Went Crazy After Learning of My Death Chapter 06: Revenge and Calling Off the Wedding

The news of the canceled wedding exploded through the New York underworld like a bomb.

The Vitale family was furious. Sophia’s father called Dante and threatened to go to war. Dante only said, “I never loved your daughter. The wedding was a lie. Now the lie is over.”

Then he hung up.

That night, he went to Lucchese territory.

He only took Rocco and two guns.

I followed him into that luxury villa.

I saw the thug who’d threatened me back then. He was sitting on a couch, drinking. I also saw the Don of the Lucchese family — a gray-haired old man, smoking a cigar in his study.

Dante kicked the door open.

“Do you remember Nora Rossi?” he asked.

The old Don squinted. “That girl? Oh, the stupid girl who sold herself out to save you. So you finally found out?”

Dante didn’t waste words. He fired one round into the old Don’s knee. The old man crashed to the ground, screaming.

“That’s for Nora.”

Second shot into the other knee.

“That’s for her three years of loneliness.”

“That’s to send you to hell so you can apologize to her.”

The old Don collapsed in a pool of blood.

Then Dante turned to the thug. The man slid off the couch in terror and kneeled on the floor, begging.

“I was forced! He made me go to Nora! I didn’t do anything —”

Dante crouched down and looked him in the eye.

“You didn’t do anything? You let her pretend to be your woman, let her humiliate me in front of everyone. Did you know she already had terminal cancer? Did you know she had chemo the next day?”

The thug started crying.

Dante stood up and spoke to Rocco. “Break his arms and legs. Cut out his tongue. Leave him on a street in Brooklyn. Let him live. Living is a thousand times worse than dying.”

That night, Dante walked out of the Lucchese family’s villa covered in blood.

I floated behind him. I could see in his eyes not the thrill of revenge, but a deeper emptiness.

Because his enemies were dead, but Nora wasn’t coming back.

He leaned against a tree and lit a cigarette. His hand shook. The lighter wouldn’t catch.

I reached out to block the wind for him.

He froze for a second, then murmured, “Are you helping me light my cigarette?”

He didn’t hear my answer. But he stopped shaking.

The cigarette caught. He took a drag and spoke to the night sky.

“Nora, did you see that? I got revenge for you.”

I stood in front of him and said, “Yes, I saw. Thank you.”

He didn’t hear me, of course. But he smiled a little.
