My Husband’s Heir Cost Him His Own Daughter Chapter 51

I stood on the other side of the iron gate and looked at him, my face a blank mask.

“No.”

The word was a quiet death. The light in Carter’s eyes extinguished.

“No?” He shook his head, refusing to believe it. “Amelia, that’s impossible. She’s so small, the timing is right… She looks just like me… She is!”

“I said no.”

My voice was flat.

“Carter Beauchamp, we are divorced. Your daughter died the moment you pushed me to the ground for your so-called heir and watched me bleed.”

I looked down at the child in my arms, then back at him.

“The baby I am holding is my daughter. Amelia Lowell’s daughter. Her name is Claire Lowell.”

Carter’s lips moved, but no sound came out.

“But she’s our child,” he finally whispered, as if trying to convince himself. “She is.”

“Don’t you already have a son, Carter?” I let out a cold laugh. “Why come all the way to Boston to fight me for a daughter? Oh, right. I forgot. I heard the one Savannah gave you couldn’t even pass a paternity test. I never thought you’d be played like that.”
