My Husband Wiped The Handle My Brother Touched And Called It Clean Chapter 03

“A grudge? A nineteen-year-old street racing without a license is just ‘playful,’ but my eighteen-year-old brother isn’t even worthy of touching your old car?”

I spoke into the dead line after he hung up.

Then, I slipped the divorce papers I had printed earlier into a manila envelope. To keep Ethan from getting suspicious, I slid a “Starry Sky Tech Equity Waiver Form” right over the top of the actual documents.

I took a cab straight to the Starry Sky Tech building. This was the skyscraper I had helped Ethan secure, going from investor to investor back when we started.

But now, the reception desk was manned by a completely unfamiliar face.

“Excuse me, ma’am, who are you here to see? Do you have an appointment?” The receptionist looked me up and down, noting my casual clothes.

“I’m looking for Ethan Miller.”

“I’m sorry, Mr. Miller is in a meeting. No one goes up without an appointment.”

A few employees holding documents walked out of the elevator. They were laughing and chatting, holding afternoon tea pastries.

“Stella is seriously the best. The desserts from this bakery are always sold out.”

“Duh, she acts like she’s the first lady of the company. Mr. Miller completely caters to her every whim.”

Hearing the words “first lady”, I tightened my grip on the envelope. Ignoring the receptionist’s protests, I walked straight toward the security turnstiles.

“Hey! You can’t just barge in here! Security!” The receptionist pressed the alarm button.

Two security guards rushed over and grabbed my arms tightly.

“Let go of me!” I struggled hard.

One of the guards shoved me, making me stumble backward.

My ankle twisted painfully. My wrist scraped violently against the sharp edge of the turnstile, slicing a deep gash into my skin.

Fresh blood began dripping onto the polished floor.

“What’s all this noise about?” Ethan’s voice echoed from the elevator lobby.

I looked up and saw him walking out side by side with Stella. Ethan froze when he saw me sprawled on the floor.

“Chloe? Who allowed you to come cause a scene at the office?”

The moment he took a step forward, Stella reached out and tugged his sleeve.

“Oh my, isn’t this Mrs. Miller? Even if you’re still upset about yesterday, you shouldn’t barge into the company and make a scene.”

“It sets such a bad example for the employees,” she added smoothly.

Her voice wasn’t loud, but it perfectly struck Ethan’s ultimate weakness—his public image.

Ethan’s footsteps halted instantly. The slight flicker of concern in his eyes twisted into pure annoyance.

“What are you doing here? Haven’t you embarrassed me enough?”

Leaning against the turnstile, I slowly forced myself to stand up. “I came to get your signature.”

I handed over the manila envelope, but Ethan didn’t reach for it.

Instead, he turned to the guards and barked, “Make sure you don’t just let unauthorized personnel drift in here in the future.”

I, the co-founder of this company, had just been labeled a random drifter.

Stella pulled the envelope from my hand, using the motion to adjust Ethan’s tie playfully. “Ethan, don’t be so harsh. What if she actually has something urgent?”

Only then did Ethan glance at the cover. Seeing the title Equity Waiver Form, his expression softened considerably.

“You finally came to your senses? Keeping these options in your hands is useless anyway. Transferring them to Stella will let her manage the company better for me.”

Terrified that I might change my mind, he didn’t even bother to slide the papers out to look inside.

He flipped straight to the final page and scribbled his signature rapidly. “Glad you’re finally acting mature for once.”

He threw the envelope back into my chest. I caught it, feeling the actual signed divorce petition hidden right beneath the cover.

“Just stay quietly at home from now on, and I won’t mistreat you.”
