“Josette’s mother passed away hours ago. But she hasn’t shown up to claim the body even after we notified her ”

Staring at the official seal on the death notice. Nolan stepped back in shock.

‘She’s gone…

“This can’t be right. I already paid her medical bills. How could she die from lack of treatment?”

The young nurse stammered out, “But the card was frozen. There was nothing we could do about it.”

Nolan clenched the notice in his hand, his brow deeply furrowed.

He’d threatened Josette he’d cut off her mother’s medical care, but it was only an empty threat.

There had always been money in Josette’s mother’s account.

He would never have frozen that life-saving card.

Countless questions flooded his mind.

Nolan called the bank manager.

Hearing Nolan’s accusation, the manager sounded confused. “The request to freeze the card came from Ms. Johnson. We

naturally assumed it was what you wanted.”

“What?” Nolan couldn’t believe it.

After all, in his eyes, Winona was an innocent, kind-hearted girl.

Though he refused to admit it, he still headed to see Winona, unwilling to accept the truth.

‘Nolan, have you found Josette yet…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Nolan slammed the death notice right in her face.

Tell me. Why did you freeze her mother’s bank card?”

Glancing at the words on the notice, Winona put on a shocked expression I really don’t know what’s going on here!

‘Nolan, don’t you trust me? I could never do something like this.”

Seeing she still refused to admit it, not a single trace of guilt on her face, Nolan’s heart turned completely cold

“I already called the bank. The manager said it was you who froze the card!”

At these words. Winona finally panicked.

“I… I just acted on impulse.

In the photos, she was covered in bruises all over her body, and there was also a diagnosis of mental disorder.

“If anything really happened to Josette. I’ll make you pay twice over!”

After dropping that line, Nolan left with Andy and got in the car
