The attorney kept his head down, typing rapidly on his laptop, not daring to meet my eyes.

One of the shareholders, Mr. Bennett, who had known me since I was a child, couldn’t stand by any longer.

“Mr. Hayes, this…” He stepped forward, clearly wanting to say something.

Skyler gave him a cold look, and Mr. Bennett immediately lowered his head.

After my father died, my health deteriorated, and I spent years bedridden.

When the last strip of fresh peel fell to the floor, I looked at the flawless fruit in my hand and smiled. Then I raised my head and met Skyler’s eyes.

“Skyler, did you forget something?”

He stared at me, confusion flickering across his face.

“When you married into my family, you signed a prenuptial agreement that was valid for thirty years. Do you need me to remind you what it said?”

Skyler seemed to remember, and the color instantly drained from his face.

As if I hadn’t noticed, I slowly walked toward him. Under his horrified gaze, I stepped closer, ready to reveal the truth that would change everything.
