My Husband Framed Me For His Mother’s Murder Chapter 01

My Husband Framed Me For His Mother’s Murder Chapter 01

I had been sent by the company on a week-long business trip.

Once it was over, I hurried back by car to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday.

But just as I was waiting at a traffic light, a stream of comments suddenly appeared in front of me.

[Don’t go home! If you go back, you’ll seal your fate as the criminal!]

[The moment you step inside, your mother-in-law will fall from the building right after!]

[Your fingerprints will be all over her body. You won’t be able to clear your name. You’ll be convicted of murder, and your husband will run off with your best friend, Jessica Blake, using the insurance money!]

I froze for a few seconds.

Then I decided to trust the comments. I’d take a gamble.

The light ahead turned green. I started the car.

I slammed on the gas and crashed hard into a concrete barrier.

Today was my mother-in-law Patricia Harrison’s sixty-fifth birthday.

My husband Michael Harrison wanted a low-key celebration at home.

So as soon as my business trip ended, I hurriedly drove back.

As I drove steadily toward home, just three intersections away from our community, those translucent comments appeared out of nowhere in front of me.

Like watching a show, text scrolled across my field of vision.

They kept sending warnings.

[Oh no, the heroine is almost home. There’s no escaping now.]

[Sweetheart, your husband is going to find an excuse to leave you alone with your mother-in-law just to frame you. Whatever you do, don’t go inside.]

[At 7:10 p.m., your mother-in-law will fall from the building. And you’ll be the killer.]

[Watch out for your best friend Jessica. She’s gotten together with your husband, and they’re planning to get rid of you.]

My mouth fell open. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, so I rubbed them hard.

But the comments remained right there in front of me, not fading at all.

My heart pounded wildly.

Why would Patricia suddenly fall from the building?

Why would Michael and my best friend Jessica want to frame me?

Countless questions churned inside me, overwhelming my thoughts.

Just then, my phone on the dashboard buzzed twice.

It was a message from Michael.

[Honey, are you almost home?]

[My boss just told me there’s an emergency at work. I have to go deal with it right away.]

[You go ahead and cut the cake with Mom. I’ll be back as soon as I handle things.]

The moment I read those three lines, my blood ran cold.

Could there really be such a coincidence?

Right when I was almost home, he had to leave.

If the comments were right, the moment I stepped inside, I would be alone with Patricia.

If she fell from the building, all suspicion would fall on me.

The fingerprints all over the scene would seal my conviction.

There’d be no talking my way out of it, no matter what I said.

I didn’t dare think further. The more I thought, the more terrified I became.

My fingers hovered over the keyboard. In the end, I didn’t reply.

I checked the time: 6:40 p.m., just thirty minutes until her supposed fall.

By the time the light turned green, I had already made my decision.

If the comments said I would be framed, then I would take a gamble.
