[Amelia’s POV]

Graduation day.

Logan wore a dark suit and carried flowers. He walked toward me in front of everyone. Then he dropped to one knee, like the first time.

Everyone who’d been taking photos stopped to watch. Logan swallowed nervously and opened a black velvet box.

I was reaching for the ring when another tall figure walked up. Same dark suit, same flowers, same bent knee.

Chase. Also holding a ring.

The crowd went insane.

I touched Logan’s simple plain band. Then I looked at Chase’s giant diamond. I smiled at him.

“For a husband? I already picked one.”

“For a side piece? You want to try out?”

Chase froze.

I put my hand on Logan’s shoulder. “If he says yes, maybe we’ll save you a spot.”

Chase was furious, but he didn’t dare come at me. He turned on Logan. “You’d be okay with that?!”

Logan barely blinked. “Why not? If Millie wants it.”

Chase opened his mouth. I snapped his box shut.

“Sorry. My boyfriend might be okay with it. But I’m not. I don’t want him to feel even a little bit of that. You know what it’s like to be kept a secret, don’t you?”

Chase’s face went blank.

His own words had come back to bite him.
