My Groom Swapped Brides at the Altar So I Swapped Grooms in the Parking Lot Chapter 13

He whipped his head up, staring at Sloane.

“Sloane, have you lost your mind? You married a boxing coach?”

“Do you have any idea what you’ve done? Get it annulled right now, and I’ll pretend this never happened.”

Delia’s expression soured.

She tugged at Brandon’s sleeve and whispered, “Brandon, everyone’s watching.”

Brandon shook her hand off.

He locked eyes with Sloane.

“I’m asking you one more time. Are you coming with me?”

Sloane looked at him.

At this man she had loved for seven years.

And suddenly, it all felt absurd.

His eyes said it all.

He did not think he had done anything wrong.

He just could not accept that she had dared to stop waiting.

“I’m not going.” Sloane let out a laugh. “A boxing coach? Way too hot to pass up.”

Riley screamed like a fangirl at a concert.

Brandon’s fists cracked as he clenched them.

He was about to step forward when a deep, commanding voice rang out from the back of the crowd.

“A boxing coach? Since when did my grandson change careers?”

The entire hall froze.

Alex Marshall leaned on his cane, taking slow, deliberate steps forward.

Delia’s smile froze on her face.

“Mr. Marshall,” Delia said, her voice tightening, “you must have the wrong person. This is just a coach I met at the training center. His last name is… what was it again?”

She turned to look at Nathaniel.

A hired nobody who took the money and played his part.

Who did he think he was, pretending to be something more?

Alex Marshall stopped in front of Nathaniel and gave him a long, hard look.

“You little brat.” The old man’s voice rolled through the ballroom like thunder. “When exactly did you switch careers to boxing coach? Does your father know? Does your mother?”

Dead silence.

Nathaniel offered a lazy smile, half caught-red-handed, half utterly unbothered.

“Grandpa, I was chasing a wife. The job title didn’t matter.”

Sloane stood frozen, her brain exploding like someone had set off fireworks in her skull.

She turned to Nathaniel.

He winked at her.

The look on his face said, “Surprised?”

She had suspected he was not really a boxing coach,

After all, the first day he had shown up at her uncle’s hardware store, he had sorted through two years of backlogged inventory like it was nothing.

He had drawn up a few quick shelf layouts, and the next day, sales doubled.

A boxing coach would not know that kind of stuff.

But she never expected this.

Alex Marshall’s grandson.
