My Godfather Husband Gave Our Marriage a Zero, but Refused to Let Me Divorce Him Chapter 07

Livia clutched at the hem of his shirt, her eyes begging.

“Rocco, please-you have to clear my name. Tell everyone the footage and audio are AI-generated forgeries. Once we get home, I’ll help you win Odette back. Don’t let these strangers cancel me. I’m

terrified.”

Rocco slowly turned his head and stared straight at her. “You’re scared? You brought all this on yourself. You deserve it.”

With that, he grabbed the still-streaming phone and hurled it far out into the ocean.

The feed went dead. Rocco abandoned Livia and returned to the hotel alone.

He kept scrolling through my posts.

The next one was a signed consent form for my abortion. This was the baby we’d both longed for.

He still vividly remembered his overwhelming joy at the pregnancy news.

He had built a successful career, had the woman he loved beside him, and we had been expecting

our child.

He’d already picked out a name and dreamed of giving that baby every wonderful thing life could

offer.

But after months of being torn apart, I had chosen to end the pregnancy.

After Livia came back, she enforced her version of fairness: every single expense was split fifty-fifty.

In a cruel twist of fate, the only bill Rocco paid in full was the termination of our child.

He replayed that day in the hospital hallway.

Livia had laughed and accused me of playing the victim.

He’d pulled away from my trembling body, ignored my deathly pale face, and refused to pay for anything beyond his “fair share.”

That exact half payment had been just enough to cover the abortion procedure.

He remembered when I tried to talk to him about the baby, and he’d sneered that I was using our

child as blackmail.

He thought back to my mother calling to borrow money, and how he’d snapped that I was lying to

Nim.

“She’d already decided to leave me the day she signed that consent form,” Rocco whispered to

himself.

The full weight of his blindness crashed down on him.

Once,

he’d wanted nothing more than to make up for every hardship we’d endured side by side.

Yet at the same time, he feared I would turn bitter and greedy, just as Livia had warned.

Over and over, he let Livia hurt me. Her toxic blueprint for marriage had destroyed our happiness. Rocco booked the next flight home without delay. He needed to find me and face what he’d done. The plane touched down in the dead of night. His car sped back to our townhouse.

He pushed open the front door. The house was empty.

Not a single one of my belongings remained. Only Livia’s clothes and shoes littered the rooms.

He finally stepped into the unused nursery.

Every piece inside had been carefully handpicked for our baby. Now it was piled high with Livia’s junk.

The whole house reeked of her presence. There was nothing left of me.

On the coffee table sat Livia’s notebook, left behind. Page after page was filled with scores for me. Even forgetting to wash the dishes on time earned me another zero.

Line after line of brutal zeroes stared back.

He swept an arm across the table. The notebook crashed to the floor, pages scattering everywhere.

The front door creaked open. Livia had followed him home.

“You have some nerve showing up here.” Rocco stared at her coldly.

Livia bit her lip and hurried forward. “Rocco, give me one more chance, please.”

“Odette still cares about you. Women respond to tenderness, not force. I know exactly how to win

her back. I’ll apologize to her on your behalf. We might still fix this.”

A bitter laugh burst from Rocco. “Win her back?”

His bloodshot eyes burned with long-suppressed fury.

“Do you honestly think I would ever trust you again?”
