My Four Beast King Fathers Chose Her Over Me Chapter 08

My Four Beast King Fathers Chose Her Over Me Chapter 08

Just as I’d known it would go.

I chose Isolde. She led me back to her quarters.

One moment she was all sweetness, asking which furs I’d like for my bed, which handmaids I favored.

The instant the four fathers were gone, the mask slipped off.

She hauled me into a chamber black as pitch.

The second we crossed the threshold, two of her attendants threw me to the floor and forced me onto my knees before her.

She didn’t waste a heartbeat more on pretense.

I looked up at her, calm.

“So you brought me here to break me.”

Isolde sprawled in her chair, smug.

“What else? You think I actually meant to spoil you? Nyssa, your mother killed mine. I’ll have my revenge.”

“Good.” My eyes brightened. “Then kill me. Kill me, and your revenge is done.”

Isolde’s gaze narrowed. “You think I won’t?”

“Then do it.” I leaned into it. “Your mother was a homewrecking whore. A cheap slut who spread her legs for any Alpha who’d glance her way—”

“Don’t you dare speak about my mother!”

Isolde flew at me, striking my face over and over.

She drew a blade and laid it against my throat.

“My mother was no lowborn filth. She was actually—she was—”

Before she could finish, an older female attendant caught her wrist. “My lady. Careful.”

Isolde blinked. The clarity returned to her eyes.

She laughed under her breath. “You nearly got me, Nyssa. You want death so badly. A pity—I won’t grant it.”

I stared.

She went on. “Death is only a moment. One instant of pain for you. One instant of pleasure for me. No. I want you alive. I want you healthy, breathing. So you can watch me strip everything away from you. Piece by piece.”

I didn’t follow.

She rose and clapped her hands. Several massive males filed in.

The moment I saw their faces, my heart nearly stopped.

They were the very ones from the Feral Dens.

My body reacted before my mind could catch up.

I began to shake, every instinct shrieking at me to run.

There was no way Isolde could command the Dragon King’s pack.

If they were standing here, it could only mean one thing.

“These three years. Every male who came to my cell—they were yours.”

Not a question. A fact.

Isolde threw her head back and laughed.

“Took you long enough. I chose each and every one of them for you, by hand. Wasn’t that sweet of me?”

She was sickening.

But Second Dad kept his pack airtight. No outsider could slip in.

How had she managed it?

If she could plant her own people inside his territory, where else had she put them?

Questions came flooding.

I prodded at her. “Aren’t you afraid the Dragon King will find out?”

“If I dared do it, I made certain he never would.” Isolde scoffed. “Worry about yourself.”

She clapped once. The males closed in.

The familiar hands. The familiar weight. My stomach turned itself inside out.

But I couldn’t be sick.

Vomiting only earned a different kind of punishment.
