My Fiancé Favors My Twin Sister Chapter 10

My Fiancé Favors My Twin Sister Chapter 10

He looked at me, exhaustion heavy in his eyes.

“Linnea, is there nothing else you want to say?”

My voice was cold. Distant.

“Thank you for taking care of my parents’ grave this past year.”

“But from now on, don’t bother.’

I cut him off cleanly.

The light in his eyes dimmed.

I studied him-this face I’d chased for ten years.

It felt like a stranger’s now.

“I’m sorry, Linnea.”

He said it again. Three words I’d never once heard in a decade.

No matter how much I gave, no matter how I bent, no matter how I swallowed my pride-

he’d never said them.

Now he kept repeating them. Over and over.

“I’m sorry. I was wrong.”

But it was too late.

The apology landed on empty ground.

His hand trembled as he pulled out a ring.

Diamonds caught the sun-bright, blinding.

The scene I’d once dreamed of.

“Linnea,” he looked up, “Saskia is loud and bold.”

“You’re steady and quiet. I admit, sometimes I got swept up in her spark. I lost my way.”

“But I never meant to lose you. Will you give me one more chance?”

He held the ring out.

I stepped back. Clean. Final.

“If you’re drawn to her light-that means your heart leans toward it.”

“You should’ve chosen her from the start.”

I turned toward the graves, the weight of ten years finally lifting.

“Pierce, I’m genuinely happy now.”

“No more chasing. No more bending.”

“No more lying to myself at night, telling myself you just didn’t know how to show love.”

“I told myself that for ten years.”

The words came out light-lighter than I’d expected.

I used to think if I was good enough, steady enough, he’d eventually turn around.

He’d see me.

But that night-watching him remember every little thing Saskia wanted.

Watching him plan fireworks just for her-

I finally understood.

He knew how to love. He knew how to show it.

He just never thought I was worth the effort.

He pressed the ring into my palm.

“Linnea, please-one more chance.”

“I was wrong. I’m sorry.”

The ring burned in my hand.

But it couldn’t warm what I’d buried.

I looked down at it-the symbol of everything I’d once wanted.

Then I let go.

It slipped through my fingers and hit the ground.

I didn’t look at his unraveling face.

“No more chances.”

“I gave you ten years’ worth. You wasted every single one.”

I turned and walked away.

A person shouldn’t make the same mistake twice.

I wasn’t going to make it again.
