My Ex Thought I Still Loved Him, I Was Already Married Rich Chapter 06

I nearly broke down.

“Sophia! That is a human life!”

“Take it out on me. Don’t touch my grandmother!”

My mother was gone.

My father was gone too.

Grandma was the only family I had left in this world.

I could not lose her.

Sophia looked at me and gave a soft laugh.

“Fine. Get on your knees and beg me, and I’ll let the doctor go treat her.”

I froze for only two seconds before I really knelt down.

Back then, when I had been forced overseas, I was so afraid of dragging Grandma into my mess that I did not even dare contact her for the first few years.

I had never dared tell her about those filthy, unbearable things either.

All I wanted was for her to stay safe, healthy, and live a long life.

I had already lost too much. I could not lose Grandma too.

“Please. Let the doctor save my grandmother.”

When Sophia saw that I had really knelt, she beamed.

She walked slowly toward me in her heels and looked down at me.

“Nora, look at you now. You really do look like a dog.”

As she spoke, her heel came down hard on the back of my hand.

The pain drilled straight into my bones.

I let out a muffled groan.

But she only pressed harder, as if she wanted to crush my bones beneath her heel.

She slowly bent down and leaned close to my ear, enunciating every word.

“Your grandmother.”

“And your parents.”

“They all deserved to die.”

“That’s what they get for giving birth to a worthless piece of trash like you.”

I lifted my head, my eyes bloodshot.

Just then, a low male voice suddenly came from the doorway.

“Sophie.”

Sophia’s expression changed almost instantly.

Tears spilled from her eyes.

With red-rimmed eyes, she threw herself into Julian’s arms.

“Julian, my heart hurts so much.”

“But Nora won’t let me see the doctor.”

“Does she want me to die so she can get back together with you?”

Julian frowned as he looked at me, disappointment filling his eyes.

“Nora, you were the one who insisted on breaking up with me back then.”

“Now you’re targeting my fiancée. What exactly are you trying to do?”

I had no time to waste arguing with them.

All I wanted was to save my grandmother.

My eyes were red as I said, “Get out of my way.”

I should never have expected beasts like them to act like decent human beings.

This approach would never work.

I turned to leave and call another hospital.

But after only two steps, Julian grabbed my wrist.

He stared at me, his voice low.

“Nora, do you regret it? Is that why you keep showing up in front of me again and again?”

I yanked my hand free.

“Are you insane?”
