My Don Paid Me 800. His Secretary Stole Millions Chapter 04

My Don Paid Me 800. His Secretary Stole Millions Chapter 04

Island vacation?

I didn’t have a dime. How was I supposed to vacation? Swim there?

I kept my voice calm.

“Sir, if you’re buying, pay up. If not, don’t block my business.”

My tone was nothing like before. Like he was just some stranger.

Knox’s face twisted. My indifference was getting to him.

“Rae! Haven’t you caused enough trouble?”

His voice shook. Barely contained.

“I looked for you for two whole months!”

“I thought you were on some island, spending my money!”

“Instead, you’re hiding out in this dump, selling this trash?”

I stared at him coldly. Like he was a crazy person.

“Knox, I’m making my own money. I’m not stealing or cheating. How is that trash?”

“Better than being a beggar in your hillside mansion, not even getting enough to eat!”

Knox froze. Like he’d just heard the funniest joke.

“Not enough to eat?”

He let out a bitter laugh.

“Rae, you’re still lying?”

“I give you eighty thousand a month. That’s just for living expenses.”

“The bags, the jewelry—I bought you everything you asked for.”

“When did you get so greedy?”

The customers started whispering.

“Eighty thousand? That’s not enough?”

“She’s definitely a gold digger. So greedy.”

The chat exploded.

[Plot twist! She really is a gold digger!]

[Eighty thousand a month? I’d eat shit for that money!]

I stared at him. Confused. Furious.

“Knox, did you hit your head?”

“Your secretary, Elaine, told me times are tough.”

“Cut me from 3000 to 800. When did you ever give me eighty thousand?”

“I ran before I couldn’t even afford your HOA fees!”

Knox went rigid,

“What?”

He stepped closer. Eyes locked on mine.

“Elaine took your money? When?”

“Don’t play dumb with me.”

I laughed. Didn’t back down.

“Didn’t you tell Elaine to run my performance reviews?”

“Reply five minutes late? Five hundred off. Didn’t drink for you? 800 off.”

“You even told her to cut my utilities. Said I should cover my own expenses.”

I pointed at him. Let all those months of anger pour out.

“Knox, you’re cheap. But at least own up to it.”

“Now you’re here talking about eighty thousand?”

“Bags? Jewelry? I never asked for any of that!”

Knox stared at me like I’d just told him the sky was green.

“That’s impossible. I told Elaine to transfer eighty thousand to your account every month.”

I laughed again.

“Don’t believe me? I’ll pull up my bank statements right now.”

I grabbed my phone.

Then Knox’s phone lit up.

A message from Elaine.

[My Don, I’ve already transferred Rae’s eighty thousand.]

[She said it’s not enough. She’s asking for a limited-edition bag too.]
