My Deranged Mafia Marriage Chapter 04

My Deranged Mafia Marriage Chapter 04

I choked. “What—Enzo—”

He shoved me back, kicking the coffee table over.

“Vanessa told me everything. You attacked her like an animal. She took him to get stitches, and then he disappeared. Who else but you would snatch a three-year-old boy, Sonia? Who?!”

I coughed. “I haven’t left this apartment! You’re insane!”

“You’re the crazy one!” His face was flushed deep red. “You’ve been spraying me with alcohol for six months, you’ve lost your mind. Now you have the nerve to go after a child. Call your people. Call them now.”

“I didn’t take him! If you hate me this much—then give me the divorce!”

I reached for the papers on the coffee table.

He grabbed me by the back of the collar.

The fabric ripped.

My shirt fell open.

Before I could react, he seized my wrist and dragged me toward the bathroom.

“Lorenzo! Stop!”

His hands felt just like their hands.

He kicked the door open and threw me into the freezing bathtub.

Ice-cold water poured from the showerhead.

I choked. Gasped. Tried to crawl out—

He unbuckled his leather belt and tied my wrists to the metal handle.

I struggled desperately. The water was bone-chilling.

He went to the cabinet and grabbed the container of high-concentration alcohol.

He twisted the cap off and poured the liquid over my head.

“You love this stuff so much,” he roared, “where is he?”

The alcohol burned my throat and eyes.

He shoved my head under the water.

I couldn’t breathe. My stomach twisted—

A sharp, deep, tearing pain erupted in my lower abdomen.

Then came a rush of warmth, flowing down my thighs.

Red flowers bloomed in the freezing water.

I stared at it. I stopped fighting.

His phone rang.

He stared at the screen, then answered.

“Wha—What?”

The dispatcher’s voice sounded weary.

“Mr. Vitale? The boy wandered up to the rooftop play area. We found him eating ice cream. You’re accusing your wife of kidnapping and murder? Sir, you’ve wasted a lot of police resources.”

The phone slipped from his hand.

The bottle slipped from the other.

He turned around.

He was ghost-white.
