My Alpha Ordered My Heart Cut Out for His Mistress Chapter 06

The parchment felt heavy in my hands as I traced the royal seal with my fingertip. The Grand Council summons-issued in my name as Princess Elena Hamilton-would reach every Alpha in

the region by nightfall.

“Are

you certain about this?” Forest asked, his voice low as he stood behind me in the Royal

study.

I set down the parchment and met his gaze in the mirror. “I’ve spent three years in darkness, Forest. I won’t hide anymore.”

The High Enforcer’s eyes softened slightly-the closest thing to warmth I’d seen from him in our

short acquaintance. “Once we invoke the Grand Council, there’s no turning back.”

“Good,” I said, straightening my shoulders. “I don’t want a way back.”

King Reign-my father-entered silently, his presence filling the room without effort. “The messengers have been dispatched,” he said, his voice carrying the weight of centuries of royal authority. “Every Alpha in the region will be compelled to attend.”

I nodded, feeling the strange new power coursing through my veins-the Royal Aura that had awakened within me. “Including Paxton.”

“Especially Paxton,” Reign confirmed, his eyes-so like mine-hardening. “He won’t be able to refuse without revealing his defiance to the entire werewolf community.”

The Grand Council Hall loomed before us, its ancient stone walls witness to centuries of

werewolf law and politics. Forest and I watched from the shadows as vehicles began to arrive, disgorging Alphas from across the region.

“There,” Forest whispered, pointing to a sleek black SUV pulling up to the entrance.

My breath caught as Paxton emerged, straightening his custom suit with practiced arrogance. He looked exactly as I remembered-handsome, confident, utterly convinced of his own. superiority.

The passenger door opened, and two pack members carefully extracted Chloe, who was seated

in a wheelchair. Her face was pale, her expression a perfect mask of suffering as she leaned heavily on Paxton’s arm.

“Quite the performance,” I murmured, noting how she made sure to wince with each step.

Forest’s jaw tightened. “She’s playing to the cameras.”

Indeed, several reporters had gathered at the entrance, their lenses trained on the arriving dignitaries. Paxton guided Chloe to a nearby bench, then approached the nearest microphone.

“Alpha Paxton Meyer,” he introduced himself smoothly. “I’m here at the urgent request of the High Enforcer to address concerns about a dangerous rogue who has been terrorizing our pack.”

The reporters leaned forward eagerly as he continued.

“For three years, we believed Elena Evans was dead after she murdered innocent pack members and fled justice,” he said, his voice dripping with false sincerity. “Now she’s returned, corrupted by dark magic, and has bewitched the High Enforcer himself.”

I felt Forest stiffen beside me but kept my expression neutral as Paxton painted me as a

monster.

“Today, I call on the Grand Council to restore justice,” he concluded. “To return the fugitive to Shadow Creek for execution.”

The crowd murmured approvingly as he stepped away from the microphone, accepting sympathetic touches from nearby Alphas.

Chloe remained on her bench, Arlo standing stiffly beside her. My son-my beautiful boy- looked uncomfortable in his formal suit, his young face twisted with confusion as he glanced between the reporters and his father.

The Grand Council Hall fell silent as the last Alpha took his seat. I stood in the shadows of the upper gallery, watching as Forest entered from a side door and took his place at the front.

Paxton sat in the front row, Chloe beside him in her wheelchair. Arlo had been relegated to the second row, his expression sullen.

The ancient bell tolled once, signaling the start of proceedings.

“Alphas of the Region,” Forest began, his voice carrying effortlessly through the hall. “You have been summoned to address a matter of grave importance.”

Paxton rose smoothly to his feet. “High Enforcer, before we begin, I wish to make a formal accusation.”

Forest nodded, gesturing for him to continue.

Paxton approached the podium, his confidence radiating as he faced the assembled Alphas.

“I accuse High Enforcer Forest Hoffman of harboring a fugitive from justice,” he declared, his voice ringing through the hall. “Elena Evans, the Rogue Witch of Shadow Creek, who murdered innocent pack members and fled before she could be executed for her crimes.”

Murmurs rippled through the crowd as Paxton continued.

“She has somehow bewitched the High Enforcer with her dark magic,” he said, gesturing toward Forest. “But I call upon the Grand Council to see through her deception.”

He turned to address the Alphas directly, his expression hardening.

“I demand that Elena Evans be returned to Shadow Creek immediately,” he concluded. “For execution, as our laws require.”

The crowd of Alphas nodded in agreement, their faces solemn as they considered the

accusation.

I felt my heart pounding as I watched from above, waiting for the perfect moment to reveal myself.
