My Alpha Fiancé Let Another She-Wolf Wear My Scent—So What? I Let His Rival Wear My Ring Chapter 04

My Alpha Fiancé Let Another She-Wolf Wear My Scent—So What? I Let His Rival Wear My Ring Chapter 04

I was about halfway done stuffing my bag when Kaelen showed up.

He chucked a half-empty brown bottle at me. “Grabbed you some medicine.”

I caught it and stared at the label. I’d seen this bottle before. In Linnet’s post, Kaelen had used it to patch up her cut.

Thing is, I’m allergic to this stuff.

When Kaelen was eighteen, his skills already had him standing out from the rest. Some of the other wolves in the pack got bitter about it and paid off rogues to wreck his hands.

Back then, I’d jumped in front of him without even thinking. I only got scratched up a little, but some servant decided to clean my wound with this exact medicine. I went into shock on the spot and got hauled off to the med bay, didn’t come to for almost a whole day.

Dorian told me later that Kaelen had been a mess the entire time I was out. After I woke up, he went ballistic. He had every single bottle of this stuff tossed out of the pack and made it clear it was never supposed to show up again.

Now, here he was, the one bringing it back.

I dropped my eyes and tossed the bottle straight into the trash. Kaelen just snorted when he saw. “Whatever. Use it or

don’t!”

His phone buzzed. He checked it, and his whole face went soft again. His voice turned all gentle. “Sweetheart, keep that wound dry. Watch what you eat. When you’re healed up, I’ll take you somewhere nice.”

Maybe it was because I wasn’t saying anything, but he kept shooting me these quick side glances. Finally, he spoke up again. “About earlier today, I was just setting an example. You know how messy pack politics get. Punishing you like that was supposed to send a message to everyone else.”

I gave a small nod, didn’t argue, didn’t explain. “Got it.”

Kaelen stopped cold. Something weird flickered across his face. He looked like he was about to say something else, but

I’d already walked into the bathroom to grab my stuff.

Tucked in the corner of the sink was a scrap of pink lace underwear that sure as hell wasn’t mine.

From outside, Kaelen’s phone played a voice message. “Alpha Kaelen, I forgot to grab the underwear I changed out of this morning… Can you bring it over? Oh, and I’m obsessed with that body wash you’ve been using. Can I have that

bottle?”

So that’s what it was. The body wash smell clinging to him was the one I always used, the kind he never touched before. Turns out Linnet was into the scent of my body wash, so now he was wearing it.

He really did like Linnet, didn’t he? That’s why he went along with whatever she wanted.

Kaelen wandered over, eyes still glued to his phone.

The second he stepped into the bathroom, he spotted me standing there and the pink lace sitting right beside me. His gaze flickered.

“Linnet wasn’t feeling great this morning, so I told her she could come here and change.”

“Okay.” I didn’t react much, just moved out of the way.

Kaelen grabbed the thing and started to leave, then stopped out of nowhere. “If you’re pissed, I won’t go.”

I waved it off.

He stood there for a second, but then Linnet called again, pushing him to hurry up.

After he hung up, Kaelen said, “I’ll be back soon. Get yourself ready. Tomorrow, I’m marking you in front of the whole pack.” Then he took off in a rush.

Once I finished packing, I flipped through social media without really caring. Linnet had posted again.

First photo showed some guy’s hand testing the bathwater. Second one was a selfie. Behind her, a werewolf was standing close, busy washing her hair.

The caption read: [Alpha Kaelen says my hand’s hurt, so I can’t get it wet. He’s washing my hair and helping me bathe. Why am I getting all shy…]

I flexed my bandaged hand. Turned around and took one last look at the place I’d lived in with Kaelen for five years.

Right then, a message from him popped up. [Something came up. Can’t make it back. Tomorrow’s marking is off.)

I told myself it didn’t matter. Not like I’d invited anyone to watch, anyway.

I grabbed my suitcase and walked out, climbed into a car heading for the port. I sent Kaelen a breakup message, then shut my phone off.

[We’re done, Kaelen.]
