The sound of the shattering glass drew everyone’s stares.

I also looked toward the noise.

Our eyes locked.

Xavier turned pale, his shoulders trembling slightly. He couldn’t take his eyes off me, his eyes

red-rimmed.

I glanced at him blankly, then looked away, as if he were a stranger.

“Fran…” Xavier pushed through the crowd and stumbled toward me.

He stopped a few feet away, his hand raised and frozen in mid-air, his ten fingers trembling

violently.

“Fran, is it really you?”

“You’re alive… thank God…”

His voice was hoarse, and he leaned forward, tears glistening in his eyes.

My fiancé, Niels Dolan, stepped forward and stood in front of me.

“Sir, you’ve got the wrong person. This is my fiancée, Vivian.”

Xavier’s eyes widened, and he clenched his fists as he glared at Niels.

“Get lost! She’s my wife!” He reached out to grab me.

I took a step back and looked him straight in the eye.

“Sir, please show some respect.”

“I don’t know you, and you’ve mistaken me for your wife.’

Xavier froze completely. Seeing my utterly indifferent expression, he clutched his chest and gasped

for breath.

“Fran, don’t pretend. I know it’s you. Are you still mad at me? I was wrong, I’ve completely changed.”

“You can hit me, yell at me, anything. Please don’t act like you don’t know me, okay?”

In front of all the guests, he bent his knees and dropped heavily on the ground.

A shocked murmur spread through the crowd.

The vice president of the prestigious Garrel Group was kneeling at a woman’s feet in public.

I looked down at his humiliating display and felt nothing at all.

“Security.” I raised my voice. “Remove this madman.”

Two security guards rushed forward and dragged Xavier outside.

Xavier struggled violently, his gaze fixed on me.

“Fran! Look at me! It’s Xavier!”

“I remember everything now! I know I wronged you in my past life!”

“Please give me a chance to make it up to you!”

At the word “past life”, I let out a cold laugh.

So he had remembered everything, no wonder his behavior was so bizarre.

I linked my arm through Niels’ again, turned and walked into the private room, never looking back. The next day, I went to the Garrel Group building on behalf of the Dolan Group to negotiate.

I pushed open the conference room door and faced Xavier, who was sitting in the head of the table.

His eyes were bloodshot, his jaw covered in stubble. He clearly hadn’t slept all night.

The moment he saw me walk in, he straightened up immediately.

“Fran…” He pushed his chair aside and strode over.

I slammed the acquisition contract on the conference table, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

“Mr. Minel, I’m Vivian, representing of the Dolan Group. I’m here to discuss the acquisition.” Xavier let out a bitter smile at my businesslike tone.

He didn’t even glance at the contract, grabbed a pen, signed his name at the bottom, and pushed the paper back to me.

“Anything you want, it’s yours.”

“The core businesses of the Garrel Group, the properties and funds under my name, all of it is yours.”

The executives in the room all gasped in astonishment. He was giving away his entire fortune for

nothing.

I glanced at his signature and narrowed my eyes slightly.

“Mr. Minel, what’s the meaning of this? Buying peace of mind with money?”

Xavier’s gaze locked onto me.

“I just want to repay what I owe you, little by little.”

“Fran, I know you hate me. You can take revenge however you want.”

“Just… let me stay by your side and look at you.”

I let out a soft laugh.

“Stay by my side? Xavier, do you think you have the right to negotiate with me now?”

I picked up the contract and walked toward the door.

“The Dolan Group doesn’t need handouts. I’ll go through with this contract at market price.”

“As for you.” I paused and looked back at him.

“Don’t show up again. You make me sick.”
