Mafia Heir, You Have 60 Seconds to Text Me Back Chapter 08

Mafia Heir, You Have 60 Seconds to Text Me Back Chapter 08

The party took place at a private off–campus estate Alec owned.

He’d brought me here a couple of times before.

I caught people sneaking glances at me as soon as I walked in. No one said anything outright. They were all

too well–bred for that.

Except for Silas–Sienna’s stepcousin.

In the original web novel, he harbored a pathetic, secret obsession with Sienna, but he knew he wasn’t the kind of heir her family would ever seriously consider. Naturally, all he wanted was for Sienna to end up with

the top heir.

In fact, the very first person on campus to spread anonymous rumors calling me a home–wrecker was Silas

Vance.

I had zero tolerance for men who hid in the shadows playing dirty tricks.

Later in the original plot, after he realized he didn’t actually share a drop of blood with Sienna, he willingly

volunteered to become her side piece.

What a hypocrite. Soft on himself, brutal on everyone else.

Naturally, he was the one who proposed the Truth or Dare game tonight, aiming to create an opening for his

beloved cousin.

During the game, the bottle landed on Silas twice before it ever landed on Alec.

The first time was Truth. I asked him if there was anyone in this room he secretly had feelings for.

His eyes involuntarily darted toward Sienna before he gritted his teeth and admitted to it.

The second time was Dare. I dared him to kiss anyone in the room.

Scowling, Silas chose a girl who obviously had a crush on him. The second his quick kiss ended, I drawled

casually, “You know, kissing one of the guys was an option, too.”

Alec’s eyes flicked back and forth between Silas and me, his dark gaze laced with sudden hostility toward

Silas.

Leaning into my ear, he whispered in a sharp, protective murmur, “Silas has someone he likes.”

He added under his breath, “And his temper is way worse than mine.”

I shot him a sideways glance.

Alec averted his eyes, immediately shutting his mouth.

After that little interlude, Silas spun the whiskey bottle again, and this time, it pointed straight at Alec Rossi

Floating comments flared up at lightning speed:

[Oh no! The toxic side character is going to force the male lead to kiss someone!]

[Clara is actually so cool, I don’t know why her original ending was so tragic! A young girl who just got tricked into a fake relationship doesn’t deserve to be cyberbullied like in the original book. How does Silas becoming a side–guy make him ‘deeply devoted‘ anyway?!]

Silas hadn’t coordinated this with Sienna in advance.

The moment he spat out the dare-” Pick someone in this room and make out with them for sixty seconds.“– his eyes remained pinned on Alec’s reaction.

And he knew Alec well enough to notice immediately: Alec hadn’t even looked at Sienna.

Alec didn’t hesitate for a single second. Leaning toward me, he asked in a low, earnest murmur, “Can I?”

By now, he’d developed a habit of asking for my explicit permission before doing anything.

According to our prior agreement, I’d promised not to embarrass him in front of his friends, so I didn’t turn

him down.

Alec’s eyes lit up with instant relief. Terrified of making me genuinely angry, he didn’t dare press too hard, keeping the kiss gentle, careful not to push past what I’d allowed.

Across the velvet sofa, Sienna’s composed, unbothered facade finally crumbled to pieces.

To be precise, every single person in the private lounge looked like they’d just witnessed an absolute miracle.

Unable to sit there any longer, Sienna offered a flimsy excuse and hurried out toward the restroom.

The second the kiss ended, I spoke up in a calm, flat tone. “Hand over your phone.”

Before Alec could even register what was happening, I slipped the phone right out of his fingers.

Right on cue, a fresh notification from Sienna flashed on his screen:

[Sienna]: Fine. You win.

I deliberately swiped upward through the older chat logs, letting my eyes land squarely on the messages detailing the original bet.

Alec went deathly pale the instant he realized he hadn’t scrubbed those old messages.

He never had a habit of wiping his chat logs clean in advance.

Caught entirely off–guard, his dark eyes filled with sheer, unadulterated panic. His whole body went rigid as a

statue.

I didn’t say a single word. I simply placed the phone back into his trembling palm.

Everyone in that room had grown up reading people. They all sensed immediately that something had gone

very wrong.

For the rest of the night, Alec barely spoke. He watched me like one wrong move might set off a bomb.

Sienna, noticing the strange vibe when she returned, pulled a few fraternity brothers aside to ask what had

happened.

Every single one of them just shook their heads in utter bewilderment.

“No idea what went down. She inspected his phone, and boom–he collapsed.”

“Alec’s scholar girlfriend didn’t even change her expression, but Alec looks like he just had the soul ripped right out of him.”

Sienna stared back at us, her eyes narrowing in deep, uneasy thought.
