Lost My Love to His Best Friend Chapter 08

Lost My Love to His Best Friend Chapter 08

Diggers unearthed old clips Riley posted ages ago.

She used to upload casual reels of her hanging out with all the guys nonstop.

In one old video, I sat right next to Kieran, and she called me sister-in-law out loud.

Then she put up a clip where she straddled one of their laps, feeding him noodles mouth-to-mouth.

Netizens tore into her for being a fake tomboy the second it went up, and she deleted the reel fast after the flood of hate.

After that, she barely posted anything ever again.

People realized they’d been played for fools, and all that rage shifted straight onto her.

**Commenter 1:** [Such a fake tomboy, absolutely revolting.]

**Commenter 2:** [She’s the homewrecker but tried to frame the actual girlfriend? How low can you get?]

Riley scrambled to wipe every single video off her page, but the copies had already been shared everywhere online.

Kieran’s profile was flooded with hate comments too.

He didn’t bother making excuses. He just shared my post and typed three short words.

It read: I’m sorry.

My life finally settled back down to normal.

A few days later, Riley and Kieran popped up on trending again.

The clip showed them screaming at each other out on the street.
Mid-fight, Kieran shoved Riley hard, and she crashed to the pavement.

Blood bloomed instantly on the ground.

The comment section was packed with mocking replies.

Commenter 1: [He blew up when his side chick lied about the original girl, pushed her, and she lost the baby for real.]

Commenter 2: [Late regret’s worth nothing. These two trash deserve each other.]

I skimmed a few lines then locked my phone.

They were irrelevant strangers, I didn’t need to waste a single second on them.

Hawton and I were swamped with wedding planning, running around nonstop every day.

On the day I tried on wedding gown, Hawton got pulled away by an emergency at his firm.

I headed to the bridal shop alone first.

Once I slipped into the gown, I stood before the mirror straightening the skirt.

A figure slipped into the corner of my eye from behind.

I figured Hawton had wrapped up work and come to meet me.

Without lifting my head, I smiled and asked, “How do I look?”

After a long beat, a rough male voice spoke behind me.

“You look incredible.”

I froze.

I spun around and met Kieran’s watery eyes.

I stared at him flatly and replied, “Thanks.”

I stepped forward to leave, but he clamped tight around my wrist.

“Wren, I’ve pictured you in a wedding gown a million times. I always knew you’d look breathtaking.”

“I just never imagined you’d wear it for someone else, not me.”

His voice cracked.

“Wren, I had no clue Riley would leak that video online. I swear I’ll never hurt you again, I mean it. Just let me make this right, please?”

I shook my head.

Tears spilled down his cheeks.

“Wren, how can you be this cold? Eight years of us, and you toss it all aside like it’s nothing?”

“Where was that eight-year bond when you slept with Riley? When you stood there and let everyone call me the other woman?”

I held his gaze steady.

He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

I went on.

“You know we’re done for good.”

“Stay away from me. My husband’s super possessive, and he’ll lose his mind if he catches you lingering around me.”

As I turned to walk off, he rasped out, “I cut all ties with Riley for real. She lost the baby, and I told her to never show her face near me again, I promise.”

“That’s none of my business. I don’t care about any of it.”

The hope burning in Kieran’s eyes drained away bit by bit.

He forced a weak, broken smile, and fresh tears streamed down his face.

I paid him no more mind and walked out.

Right then, Hawton pushed the shop door open. I grinned and threw myself into his arms.

He lifted me off the ground and spun me around, his eyes overflowing with soft love.

Sunlight spilled across his face, warm and brilliant.

Just like the life we had ahead of us.
