Live Wedding: I Married My Fiancé’s Rival on the Spot Chapter 05

Wasn’t it just grabbing anyone to fill the spot? Complete the fifty couples?

Why was Adrian also taking that woman to sign a marriage contract?

Once that seal was stamped down, the contract synced to the Five Families alliance system. He’d

actually be someone else’s husband.

Somehow, Mason’s unease grew stronger. His foot stepped forward uncontrollably.

Iris caught him in time. Voice light. “Who’s Adrian’s bride?”

Tonight, every bride wore the uniform veil. Under lights and cameras, faces were invisible.

Mason frowned.

“Probably someone the organizers arranged temporarily.” Dismissive tone. “Adrian’s type-helps fill a spot, but doesn’t actually trap himself.”

Iris covered her mouth, giggling, cheeks flushed.

“This time, it was lucky he was willing to help. Everyone else was scared of offending the Morgan family. No one dared accompany me to the joint wedding.”

“If he and that girl really hit it off, that’s nice too. After all, love sometimes needs a little impulse, don’t you think?”

Mason didn’t respond.

His mind drifted.

That night, Selena stood by the river. He saved her. Also an impulse.

Back then, the person in his heart was still Iris.

He hated Ethan for stealing her. But couldn’t hate the woman he’d loved.

Later, when Ethan got engaged to Selena, he thought he finally had his chance. Didn’t expect that on engagement day, Ethan still abandoned Selena for Iris.

When he saw Selena fall into the water, only one thought flashed through his mind.

As long as Selena was saved by him and ended up falling for him, she wouldn’t keep clinging to

Ethan anymore.

Iris could marry into the Morgan family smoothly.

And he could stay by her side in another identity.

He thought his beginning with Selena was just a calculation. A sacrifice.

But once, Selena fell asleep on his shoulder.

He sat in the car for a full hour. Didn’t move a finger. Scared of waking her.

In that moment, a thought surfaced.

Living like this forever wouldn’t be bad.

But then Ethan died too soon.

Dock explosion. Gone just like that.

Iris became the Morgan family’s widow overnight.

The family elders piled all the blame on her. Froze her accounts. Revoked all her permissions in the family mansion.

She was so thin that a gust of wind could blow her over. Red-rimmed eyes begging him.

“Mason. Help me.”

Mason snapped back to the present. Iris was looking at him.

He took her hand. “Let’s go. We’ll greet Adrian first.”

Iris pressed her lips. Didn’t ask more. Followed him out.

Stepping out of the registry hall, an urgent voice crashed into his ears.

“Mason, bad news-”

Mason’s hand shot up. Clamped over the groomsman’s mouth.

He glanced at the nearby livestream camera, still rolling red light. Voice dropped to barely a

whisper.

“Quiet. Livestream hasn’t cut.”

The man swallowed his words back down.

Mason released him. Sideways, blocking the lens.

“Talk.”

The groomsman’s face was white. Voice shaking.

“Mason, something happened at 302. Selena’s gone. Nina’s not in the room either.”

Mason’s brows knitted. But maintained composure.

“What happened?”

The moment that sentence left his mouth.

The plaza’s massive speakers exploded with the MC’s voice, crystal clear to every corner.

“Congratulations to the fiftieth couple.”

“Marriage contract successfully signed!”
