Life Erased, the Mafia Queen Returns Chapter 06

I followed Jasper’s location to a villa district in New York. 

It seemed like someone had called ahead. The guards barely 

gave me any trouble and let me in easily. 

I stood at the door, inexplicably struck by how much this villa 

reminded me of my old home. 

Just as I reached to press the doorbell, a hand shot out and 

blocked me. 

Through the door’s display, I saw Ivy’s reflection. 

My pupils constricted, and my mind went blank for a moment. 

Ivy furrowed her brows, clearly confused. 

“How are you here?” 

Almost on instinct, I shoved her hand aside. Her eyes widened 

in shock as I pressed my lips together and said, 

“I’m here for Jasper.” 

Ivy froze, as if she’d just remembered something, then said with a pointed, almost smug tone, 

“You really shouldn’t have given up custody back then.” 

She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, a flicker of pity in her eyes. 

“You know Vincent doesn’t like this child. Stubborn, 

headstrong, not the least bit charming… he refuses to call me 

‘Mom.“” 

“And didn’t you feel the same way yourself? Those who oppose the lead character never end well.” 

Her voice was light, playful, but her words dragged me back 

six years to that freezing winter. 

Only this time, I didn’t step back. 

“He already has a mother. He doesn’t need a second one. And as for your warning about endings-” 

I stepped closer, locking eyes with her, matching her tone with 

a smirk, 

“Since you know exactly what happened back then, you should also know that now I have nothing left to lose.” 

“You’re welcome to try what you just said.” 

I smiled faintly. 

“I’ve got a worthless life anyway. When the time comes, I’ll remember to take you with me before I go.” 

Ivy instinctively stepped back, clearly not expecting the girl 

who had once been broken and desperate six years ago to fight 

back. 

She bit her lip and stayed silent. 

Ignoring her, I pressed the doorbell. 

Not long after, the door swung open. 

A tired, unprepared face appeared behind it–Vincent. 

He hadn’t expected me. His first words were instinctive: 

“What are you-” 

In the next instant, his eyes went cold, his tone nearly 

indifferent. 

“Get out.” 

Was everything from six years ago about to replay, all because of Ivy? 

I tugged at the corner of my lips, almost bitterly. 

“Don’t worry. I’m taking Jasper and leaving.” 

But he snapped. 

He grabbed my wrist with an iron grip, said nothing, and 

pulled me inside, half his body blocking the doorway. He 

slammed the door shut, his face icy. 

I watched Ivy’s smile freeze mid–lift, her expression rigid. 

I stared up at Vincent, dumbfounded. 

…Wait. 

Did he just grab the wrong person?
