I’ve Been Suspicious Since The Day I Was Born Chapter 15

“Police! Open up!”

My dad scrambled to the door.

Officers rushed in, securing the scene.

The lead officer looked at me. “You called?”

I nodded and handed him the phone.

“Officer, I’m reporting a crime. Someone hacked into my college application and changed it. Also, someone’s been poisoning my food for years.”

I pointed at the TV.

“The evidence is all on that phone.”

He watched the footage and his face hardened.

He turned to Mrs. Shaw and Nina, who were being held by other officers.

“Take them in. Search their room immediately.”

The search was fast. Mrs. Shaw hadn’t expected me to call the police—her tools were barely hidden.

Under her bed, they found a stash of unlabeled bottles.

And a notebook—detailed daily records of what I ate, what dose she gave me, and how I reacted.

Solid proof.

My dad covered his face and crouched down, sobbing.

My mom was hysterical.

They finally understood. They’d let a wolf into their home and nearly lost their daughter.

“Come with us for a statement,” the officer said.

I followed him out.

The air outside was crisp. I took a deep breath.

For the first time in eighteen years, the air didn’t smell like danger.
