I Was His Secret Genius, Now I’m His Biggest Regret Chapter 15

Faced with Beau’s outburst, Savannah’s face twisted into a cold smile.

“Raising your voice at me?” She gave a light snort, took her phone from her handbag, and unlocked it. “Those limited-edition sneakers you preordered? I guess you don’t want them anymore.”

She tapped the screen twice, then turned the phone toward Beau. The order cancellation confirmation was displayed on the screen.

“You…!” Beau’s face flushed scarlet. Anger and humiliation warred within him, but he couldn’t say a word.

Behind him, Daisy trembled, gripping his clothes.

It was in that moment that Beau finally understood. All of Savannah’s past kindness, all the gifts and compliments, had been a lie. She was a beautiful, poisonous snake, and they were just prey she had grown tired of playing with.

Savannah watched the children’s terrified faces, a cruel pleasure spreading through her. She put away her phone and slowly crouched down until she was eye-level with Daisy.

She reached out with her bright red nails and pinched Daisy’s chin, forcing her to look up.

“Listen,” she said in a low voice, like the hiss of a snake. “Once I give your father a little brother, you won’t get even half of what you have now.”

Daisy’s pupils shrank. She was too terrified to even sob.

From that day on, fear spread through the main house like a thick moss.

Daisy no longer dared to speak loudly. Every time she saw Savannah, she hid behind Beau like a startled fawn. Beau tried to resist. He attempted to protest at the dinner table, but all he got was the permanent suspension of his riding lessons.

“Still not convinced?” Savannah said, flipping through a fashion magazine without looking up. “Then learn some manners.”

When the servants heard arguments upstairs, they would pause, then hurry away even faster. No one dared to intervene.

In the name of “learning upper-class etiquette,” Savannah canceled all their weekend plans with friends and cut off all their contact with the outside world.

Their allowance was reduced to almost nothing.

One afternoon, Daisy saw a new adventure novel in the study. She hesitated for a long time before gathering the courage to approach Savannah. “Can I… can I buy that book?” she asked in a small voice.

Savannah was trying on a new diamond necklace. She glanced at Daisy in the mirror.

“If you’re disobedient,” she said, fastening the clasp and admiring the brilliance at her throat, “you get nothing.”
