I Traveled Back Ten Years, Only to Witness His Love for Another Chapter 04

I only drifted off when the morning light crept through the curtains.

I dreamed of all those years with him—the candlelit dinner where he confessed, the rain on the beach during one of our dates, the endless sea of blue roses where he smiled and asked if I would marry him.

All of it turned into a custom couture wedding gown, its train wrapping tight around me.

I walked toward our wedding, full of hope.

Ethan smiled as he welcomed me, but his eyes kept drifting toward the audience.

That day, I’d thought he was just scanning the guests.

But in the dream, I followed his gaze—and saw Lily, holding a baby in her arms.

I wanted to stop, but my feet kept carrying me toward him.

The officiant was delivering the most heartfelt blessings.

Ethan finally pulled his gaze back and reached for the diamond ring.

I caught his hand, holding back my tears.

“Who were you really trying to put this ring on? Me—or Lily?”

He hesitated.

I raised my voice, demanding again: “Say it! Who were you trying to put it on? Is it really that hard to answer?”

But my desperate questions had no answers—not in reality, and not in the dream, either.

I woke with a start, still trapped in this cramped room, its broken faucet dripping endlessly.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Like time itself, slipping away.

But I still had no idea how to get back to the right timeline.
