I Haunted His Dreams After He Dumped Me For My Roommate Chapter 01

I fell for the hottest guy at Ivy University—online. But when we finally met in person, he was disappointed.

My roommate was the kind of pretty that made people stare. She wouldn’t stop asking how we got together. She swore we wouldn’t last.

A month later, Ethan Chase dumped me.

Vera Price smiled and asked, “Then you won’t mind if I go after him, right?”

She was right. I had no say anymore.

So after the breakup, when I suddenly discovered I could walk into his dreams, I didn’t stop him from getting completely addicted to me. He couldn’t see my face and was dead certain I was the campus belle—and I never corrected him.

Later, when he held her hand for the first time right in front of me, his brow furrowed.

Something felt off.

“Yvie, you’re not gonna get mad, right?”

Inside our dorm, Vera gave me this pity-soaked look.

“I mean, he’s the one who dumped you.”

“Sucks—you’ll never pull someone that hot again.”

I let a few seconds pass. “He won’t add you back.”

Ethan was notoriously impossible. He never added anyone on a whim.

It took me three years of talking to him before he agreed to date me online.

The day after we broke up, some freshman confessed to him, and he didn’t even blink.

“Oh, is it hard?”

Vera shoved her phone right in my face.

“He accepted my request.”

“You didn’t know? We’ve been talking for a while.”

So the second she found out my online boyfriend was the hottest guy on campus, she’d slipped into his DMs behind my back.

Another roommate jumped in. “Vera, your profile pic screams hot girl. Who wouldn’t add you?”

I couldn’t say a word. My chest just caved in.

Everyone had always expected him to dump me.

The rule was simple: an ordinary girl with a guy that attractive doesn’t get to call the shots. Ethan did.

If he wanted it, we stayed. If he didn’t, we ended.

Even while we were together, I couldn’t stop him from noticing other people—so what chance did I have after the breakup?

I climbed into my lofted bed and yanked my privacy curtain shut.

My roommates kept gushing.

“Vera, he liked your selfie on Instagram.”

My chat with Ethan was a disaster—paragraph after desperate paragraph from me. Not a single reply.

He never replied.

I didn’t fall asleep until three in the morning.

Then, in a dream, someone wrapped his arms around me from behind and whispered close to my ear.

Ethan leaned close, but I pushed him away before he could get any closer.

He didn’t get mad. He just let out this lazy, amused laugh right by my ear.

The next second, he pulled me closer despite my resistance.

After the breakup, I discovered I could walk into Ethan’s dreams.

But he didn’t seem to know.
