I Gave Away My Groom at the Wedding Chapter 06

Michael stared blankly at the pool of blood on the floor. His eyes were vacant. Dr. Langford’s accusations rang in his ears, but he seemed to have lost his soul. He was standing there like a statue, completely motionless.

Dr. Langford’s words struck like thunder in his heart. His body was trembling slightly, and hits face was filled with undeniable panic.

“That’s impossible! She… She was fine last night, and our child was still there… This can’t be! This is our child. How could she…”

Dr. Langford worked to save me for three full hours. When I was wheeled out of the operating room, Michael immediately rushed to my bedside. His eyes burned with fury mixed with confusion, and his expression was frighteningly dark.

“Sarah! How could you bring yourself to do it?”

“Do what?”

I had just been given anesthesia, and my head was still foggy. I couldn’t immediately understand what he meant.

His eyes were red-rimmed as he stared fixedly at my abdomen. “How could you bear to abort the baby? That was our child. How could you bear to do it?”

The baby? I was slightly stunned, taking a long moment to understand what he was talking about. He was referring to the child I had terminated this morning.

How interesting. When I needed his companionship most, he was busy taking care of another woman and her child.

He had turned a blind eye to my pale complexion and forced me to run errands for another woman. Back then, he was as cold as

ice.

But now, why was he crying?

I blinked, and a single tear slowly slid down my cheek. “The baby’s gone. With no more ties between us, we’re both free now.”

Michael shook his head in disbelief, his expression somewhat manic. “What right did you have, Sarah? This wasn’t just your child. What gave you the right to abort it on your own!”

Faced with his anger and breakdown, I felt completely unmoved inside. I looked at him with confusion and said, “We broke up That being the case, was there any need to keep the child?”

Michael’s movements suddenly froze. He was rooted to the spot, unable to say another word. After that, Dr. Langford transferred me to another hospital room, with Michael following behind.

He stood silently to the side, staring at me. The room was frighteningly quiet. After a long while, Michael finally spoke again.

“I know you’re still angry about what happened at the wedding, but I really didn’t mean for it to turn out that way It wasn’t intentional. I wanted to give us a perfect wedding too…

“I understand that you’re still upset, but don’t worry. I’ll handle everything and give you a perfect wedding We’ll have children again in the future.”

As he spoke, his gaze occasionally swept over my abdomen. His eyes held anger, and they were also slightly moist

I stared directly at him and spoke while enunciating each syllable carefully. “There won’t be a future. Michael Don’t you understand what I mean? We can never be together again.”

My words made Michael instinctively want to flee. He didn’t dare meet my eyes and hastily threw out a response before walking toward the hospital room door in a panic.

“Don’t overthink it. We will be together.”

I watched his figure gradually disappear at the doorway. I closed my eyes and whispered, “There won’t be a future…”

I stayed in the hospital for three days, and my body recovered somewhat. I would be leaving this city soon.

Michael seemed very afraid that would bring up breaking up again. These past few days, he had been sending his assistant to deliver nutritious meals he cooked himself. He rarely showed up in person.

The excuse was the same one I had heard countless times. He was too busy with work and had no time. But now, I no longer

cared.
