I had just landed at the airport.

The email address was permanent. I couldn’t change it.

I scrolled through them in silence.

There wasn’t the slightest change in my expression.

If their past cruelty had once made me sad,

I selected every message and deleted them.

Not one remained.

That evening, I picked a well–reviewed restaurant and told everyone to order whatever they wanted.

When it was time to pay, the server told me someone had already taken care of the bill.

I froze.

“Someone already paid? Who?”

I followed the server’s gaze and saw Ethan watching me nervously.

I frowned slightly.

He walked toward me at a slow pace.

“Claire, I’ve been looking for you for two months.”

For those two months,

he barely knew how he’d made it through those two months. He had spent half his time on airplanes.

He had traveled from Europe to the Americas, visiting every overseas branch of Bennett Group

He had no idea whether she would be there.
