The estate butler said Lucy was back again, pestering Lorenzo.

He just sat there on the couch, hunched over, hands pressed to his forehead.

Lucy walked over and looked at the man who once ran all of Crest City’s underworld.

Now he looked like he had nothing left.

“I know you were just angry when you said all that stuff before. It’s just us now. We can start over. Okay?”

After a long time, he finally spoke. His voice sounded like it was being scraped out of his throat.
