I Canceled My Wedding and Married Someone Else Chapter 02

Josh froze. The moment he turned and saw my expression, he instantly dropped Tiffany and rushed to me, frantic. “I’m sorry, baby. I got too worked up. I—I didn’t hear you.”

I shook off his hands, tore off my veil, and threw it onto the floor. “Josh, I’m not marrying you.”

His face crumbled. Tears gathered in his eyes as if he’d been struck by something fatal.

“Why? What did I do wrong? Sierra, don’t say things like that. I can’t handle it.”

Ignoring his panic, I turned to my parents. “Dad, Mom… I’m sorry. I’m not going to continue the wedding.”

My parents had already watched enough of this circus. Their faces were dark with anger.

My father snapped at the Lopez couple. “Cancel it then! Before the marriage even happens, your precious son dares hurt my daughter? Enough. We’re leaving!”

Josh panicked, crying openly now. He blocked my path, desperate.

“Sierra, we’re in the middle of our wedding! We’re one step away, you only need me to put the ring on your hand! You’re making a scene, Sierra! Don’t do this to us.”

He grabbed my wrist and yanked out the ring from his pocket.

Before I could react, he forced it onto my finger. The sharp edges of the platinum band bit into my skin, leaving a raw, angry well.

Pain shot through me, but it was nothing compared to the pain in my chest. I ripped the ring off, bloodying my fingertips, and flung it onto the floor.

My breath shook as I steadied myself. “Josh, I’m not acting out. I know exactly what I’m doing.”

He stared at the ring on the ground. Disbelief faded from his eyes, replaced by something darker, cold, sharp, like thin ice cracking under pressure.

“So that’s what this is about?” he asked with a low, humorless laugh. “You’re ending our wedding because I paid the final bid for Tiffany?”

“Sierra, you’re airing our dirty laundry for sport, are you not flat-out telling the world there’s something between us?”

“She’s your friend. Why can’t you treat her better? Why jump to malicious assumptions? Why nitpick everything? Why ruin the wedding for all three of us?!”

His hateful glare stunned me. This was the first time he had ever looked at me like I was the villain.

“Josh, was it me who told her to auction herself at my wedding? Was it me who told you to join the bidding? Was it me who told you to beat a man half to death for her?!”

My chest burned with rage.

“Don’t you dare act like the victim. The only people who suffered today were me and my family. Whatever secrets you two have, I don’t want to know.”

“But I’ll say it one last time: the wedding is off. I’m not marrying you.”

Josh’s eyes darkened. He grabbed my wrist with righteous fury.

“I’m not allowing you to cancel anything. I swear to God, I didn’t cheat.”

“Sierra, if you sold your soul to save a friend in need, I’d be grateful instead of accusing you of sleeping with him. Don’t judge others with such a petty heart!”

The crowd, confused by his certainty, suddenly shifted to his side.

“Exactly! The Lopez family is rich. Sixty thousand is nothing to them. How can the bride let her friend fall into danger like that?”

“Come on, don’t be dramatic. Treat the auction as a fun wedding game! Honestly it’s the most entertaining wedding I’ve ever been to.”

Tiffany instantly changed tactics. Tears welled in her eyes as she whispered pitifully:

“Sierra… it was just a joke. I thought I’d meet someone good this way. I didn’t expect you, who spends millions on handbags without blinking, to get upset over sixty thousand.”

Someone chimed in, “Right? How can rich people be this thin-skinned?”

Before I could reply, a soft chuckle cut through the noise. Everyone turned. Carl Howard, who had been silent in the corner, leaned back lazily, a mocking glint in his eyes.

“You’re fine with jokes?” he said evenly. “Great. Then when you get married, I’ll arrange an auction for your groomsmen and bridesmaids.”

The man’s face flushed indignantly, but he didn’t dare challenge Carl. He fell silent immediately.

Josh looked shocked. “Mr. Howard? You care about something this trivial? I thought you hated—”

Carl cut him off, expression uncharacteristically serious. “What you said earlier… was that true?”

Josh blinked. “What? Which part?”

Carl smiled faintly, absentmindedly turning the diamond ring on his pinky. His gaze settled on me, deep and unreadable.

‘If Sierra helped your friend,” he repeated softly, “you’d be deeply grateful… that part.”

Josh stiffened, stepping in front of me protectively. His voice sharpened.

“What are you planning to do?”
