How To Tame A Hot Twin Incubus? Chapter 12

“Chloe, will the boss pay you for my hospitalization expenses?”

After a long while, Ezra asked in a humble tone.

“You don’t need to worry about that. Just focus on recovering for now.”

When forced to choose between the two of them last year, I didn’t choose him.

I didn’t know if Ezra held any resentment toward me, or if he could accept me as his master.

I figured I’d let him stay in the hospital first and ask for his thoughts once he recovered. If he refused to acknowledge me, I wouldn’t force him to stay.

Ezra’s thin lips parted slightly. Just as he was about to speak, my phone suddenly rang.

“Get some more sleep. I’m going to step out to take this call.”

The man obediently nodded, watching me as I left the room.

In the hospital corridor.

I turned off the speakerphone, but the irritable male voice on the other end was still loud and grating.

“Chloe, so you finally decided to answer your phone!

Do you have any idea how many times I’ve called?!”

“What’s wrong with you? Are you just not planning on coming back?”

I had been running around all day, and half my leg was numb. I had absolutely no energy to coax him:

“I told you I’m busy. You’re an adult incubus, and the house is full of my scent. You won’t starve to death anytime soon.

If you’re really desperate, there’s half a carton of milk I drank from in the fridge. Go have that.”

“Who wants your stupid milk?! I’m asking why you aren’t coming back!”

“Whenever I run off, you drag me right back. But when it’s your turn to disappear, you don’t even say a word. What’s that supposed to mean?”

Milo was relentless, insisting that I return immediately.

Rubbing my temples, I had no choice but to tell him the truth.

“Your brother got sick. His shady boss refused to treat him, and he almost died.

When I got home, the floor by the door was covered in shattered glass.

I didn’t even need to guess who did it.

The young man sat on the sofa with his arms crossed, his short hair a mess. He must have just finished throwing a tantrum.

“How’s my brother?”

Milo asked grumpily.

“Much better. Do you want to go see him?”

After bending down to change my shoes, I replied to him and walked straight to the balcony, pulling out a suitcase to start packing.

“Teh, since when are you so kind–hearted?

Last time I went to see my brother, you specifically followed me.

I didn’t say anything, just sped up my movements, forcefully stuffing clothes into the suitcase.

After a few seconds of silence, the young man stood up and walked toward me: “Hey, what are you planning?”

“About what?”

“My brother. You said the shop doesn’t want him anymore, so what’s he going to do now?”

I looked up, my tone calm: “I’ll take care of him for now, of course.”

Milo froze, and then his eyes widened in disbelief

“You’ll take care of him?

With what money?!”

“You can barely afford to keep me, and now you want to bring my brother into this dump too?

Are you going to make him sleep on the floor?!”

Thinking of the miserable state Ezra was in, locked in that iron cage, I found the current Milo utterly ridiculous in comparison. I suddenly lost control of my tone

“Do you think your brother is just like you, some precious little young master?”

After I said that, Milo naturally threw a fit.

He snatched the freshly folded clothes right out of my hands, threw them onto the bed, and yelled angrily

“What’s that supposed to mean?! You think I’m too picky and my brother is easier to please?!”

I didn’t want to argue with this drama queen. I stayed silent, reaching out to pick up the clothes from the bed and folding them again.

He was so angry that the tail behind him was thrashing wildly.

“Chloe, I advise you to quickly find a good family to send my brother to. You have no money; you can’t afford to keep both of us

“Yeah, I have no money. So to buy your brother’s freedom, I sold this apartment. Don’t just stand there, go pack your bags. We’re moving tomorrow.”

Milo froze in place, staring in sheer disbelief:

“What?”

“You even sold our house?

Just for my brother?”
