His Perfect Wife Died The Day He Made Her Kneel Chapter 14

Julian Vance felt as though a localized bolt of lightning had struck him dead-center. His body rocked unsteadily on his feet, his limbs trembling so violently he looked on the verge of a total physical collapse.

“You… you explicitly promised you would love me for the rest of your life… This is just a sick joke to punish me, right?”

Chloe offered a soft, neutral smile, her indifferent gaze cutting through his consciousness like a razor blade.

“Don’t be pathetic, Julian. The girl who made those promises died two years ago. She bled out on the ninety-nine stone steps while you were busy comforting your little victim.”

He was completely silenced, the crushing weight of profound, unmitigated regret slamming into his chest until his psychological defenses were ripped to ribbons.

He snapped his head upward, his eyes widening with bloodshot fury as he glared at Logan Forrester’s

mocking expression. “It’s you…! What kind of toxic lies did you feed my wife to force her to accept your

touch?!”

“Chloe, don’t let him manipulate you! I’m right here! No one will ever threaten your safety again!”

Stumbling forward like a mad beast, he gathered the remaining volume of his strength and swung a

desperate fist straight toward Logan’s jaw.

“Initiating physical combat with me?”

Logan let out a low scoff. Bypassing the clumsy strike with an effortless sidestep, he brought his boot down

in a brutal, heavy kick straight to Julian’s ribs.

The sheer velocity of the impact sent Julian crashing violently against the asphalt. Before he could even scramble to steady his footing, a heavy designer boot came down, stamping his face flat against the

concrete.

Logan’s lips maintained that relaxed, mocking smirk as he tilted his head downward, his voice dropping into a quiet, menacing whisper. “I am not Chloe, Vance. I possess zero reasons to preserve your physical safety. I suggest you stay pinned and keep your mouth shut before I lose my temper.”

“When: as under your custody, your blind intellect failed to preserve her value. Now that she has permanently uncoupled from your house, you finally comprehend terror?”

Shifting his focus, Logan shot a warm glance toward Chloe, his tone becoming silky and dangerous. “Your eligibility window has closed permanently, Julian. Moving forward, your access will decrease to absolute zero, because she is very quickly going to carry my name…”

“You son of a bitch!”

“She belongs to my house! Who the hell do you think you are?!” Julian’s eyes turned completely bloodshot. Thashing wildly like a feral animal, he tried to break Logan’s iron hold, desperate to launch himself back into

the fray.

“Enough! If you dare to lay a single finger on him, see what I do to you!”

Chloe’s voice cut through the air like a blade. Stepping forward, she threw her entire body over Logan, her arms spread wide to shield him protectively against her chest.

Julian’s entire frame ze solid. The last traces of color evaporated from his skin as a violent wave of nausea forced a mouthful of dark, iron-tasting blood out from his lips.

“Why… why are you shielding him…?”

He wiped the crimson from his lip with a shaky hand, his gaze as piercing and desolate as a dying wolf cast out by the pack.

Chloe didn’t grant him the satisfaction of a verbal response. She merely looked at his unraveling form with a cold, unreadable complexity.

“Abandon the theater, Julian. I am not a piece of real estate you can claim. From this moment onward, I rule my own destiny.”

His chest heaved in a violent, broken rhythm, his knuckles tightening and releasing as his mind desperately tried to construct a final plea. But the chemical stress on his system reached its threshold-his vision blurred

into absolute darkness, and his consciousness collapsed entirely.

Outside the sterile corridor of the local medical center, Logan Forrester stood with his hands slid loosely into

his trouser pockets, his expression completely calm.

“So that’s the legendary billionaire ex-fiancé. Delightfully unhinged.”

She pressed her lips together, her eyes dropping toward the linoleum floor. “I’m sorry for omitting the details

of my past, Logan. It was simply because…”

“Shh.”

Lifting

smile.

1, slender finger, he gently pressed it against her lips, his features relaxing into a warm, genuine

completely frank, Chloe… I omitted a few details from my profile as well.”

“The flower boutique? I bought out the entire franchise a week before your arrival, precisely to engineer our

location.”

“You…!”

He offered a casual shrug of his shoulders. “One omission for another. We’re completely even now,

sweetheart.”

Suddenly, a loud, chaotic clattering rattled the interior of the private room.

Chloe immediately threw the door open, witnessing a manic Julian violently ripping the medical sensors off his chest, aggressively shoving the nursing staff aside as he tried to exit the ward.

The exact second his eyes locked onto her silhouette at the threshold, a surge of breathless excitement flooded his features, and he wept with pure joy.

“Thank God… you’re till here… you didn’t abandon me to the dark…”

She let out a long, heavy sigh. “Now that your vitals have stabilized, Julian… catch a flight back to your city.”

The manic joy died on his face instantly, his chin slowly dropping as his voice shook with an absolute,

desperate vulnerability. “Why… why can’t you just grant me a single chance to reconstruct what we had?”

“I am not a saint, Chloe! I am a flawed human being who made a catastrophic mistake! Why… why is your

capacity for grace this rigid?!”

Staring at the absolute insanity and frantic terror tearing his mind to ribbons, she offered a bitter,

melancholy smile.

“I granted you ninety-nine chances, Julian. But you chose to throw me down into the basement.”

The truth was absolute, yet she chose to keep the remaining daggers buried, letting her voice soften into a

flat, quiet finality.

“Go home. And don’t you dare track me down ever again.”

Chloe looked straight into his dark, empty eyes, a radiant, beautiful smile illuminating her features for the

final time. “If an ounce of your devotion is authentic, Julian… grant me absolute freedom.”

“Erase my name from your memory. Let that be the final service you execute for my sake.”
