His Ex Wore My Ring, So I Married His Rival Instead Chapter 05

“Your wife?” Brandon immediately set Vanessa down, his voice trembling. “Who’s your wife?”

No one answered him.

The bodyguards had already pinned Katie and Linda against the wall with their arms twisted behind

their backs.

The moment they released me, Alexander took my hand and held it tightly. He looked down at me,

his eyes full of concern.

“I got here too late.”

Linda cried out in pain. “Do you know who my son Brandon is? He’s about to become a director at Bennett Financial Group! In a few years, he could be the CEO! How dare you treat me like this!”

Katie craned her neck toward Brandon. “Brandon, say something! Have security throw them out!”

But he seemed not to hear her. His eyes stayed fixed on my hand clasped in Alexander’s.

He strode over. “Olivia, why is he here? This is our wedding!”

I frowned and stepped back. “You brought your ex here. Why can’t someone else come? Besides, Brandon, I just told you we’re done. Didn’t you hear me?”

He shook his head in disbelief. “So when you said someone was coming to marry you, you meant him? Olivia, I never agreed to break up! How can you marry someone else?”

Vanessa immediately grabbed his arm. “Brandon, I think Olivia’s just trying to make you jealous because she’s angry. She’s not really going to marry someone else.”

She paused, her voice weak. “My stomach hurts so much. Can we go to the hospital first?”

This time, Brandon didn’t even look at her. He just said, “Katie, I’ve already called 911. Just wait a

little longer.”

The other relatives finally recovered from their shock and started talking over one another.

“He looks like he’s here to stop the wedding.”

“Didn’t Brandon already make his choice? He picked Vanessa. It’s only natural for Olivia to marry

someone else.”

“Exactly. Brandon, you should take Vanessa to the hospital.”

“That’s your baby she’s carrying!”

Linda struggled against the guards and glared at me. “I was right about Olivia. She’s a shameless slut who flirts with every man she sees! Look how quickly she found someone to stop the wedding!”

“Brandon, listen to your mother! Take Vanessa to the hospital. Once you two get married, livia will regret this!”

As he listened, Brandon grew uneasy.

Perhaps he’d assumed I would never leave him, even if Vanessa showed up at the wedding and everyone found out she was pregnant.

But now Alexander was here.

Maybe he was remembering the day he’d proposed and promised to treat me well for the rest of his life. He’d probably never imagined he wouldn’t marry me. So why had he treated me like that just

now?

He took a deep breath.

He seemed to realize he’d been too harsh with me.

He abruptly pulled his hand away from Vanessa and turned to Katie. “Katie, apologize to Olivia.”

She froze, then shouted, furious and humiliated, “You want me to apologize to her? Brandon, have you lost your mind? You’re the one who told me Vanessa’s ring size! You said Olivia wouldn’t make a scene even if Vanessa wore it! And now you want me to apologize?”

Before he could answer, I laughed.

“Enough, Brandon. It’s too little, too late. I’ve decided to marry Alexander. We’re over.”

His eyes widened, then reddened. “Olivia, you can’t marry another man without my permission! Vanessa’s pregnancy was an accident!”

“If you hadn’t complained that your stomach hurt and insisted I come to your tent that day, Katie wouldn’t have taken me to Vanessa’s tent by mistake! You think you had nothing to do with it?”

He grew more agitated as he spoke.

“Olivia, didn’t you say you wanted to work at Bennett Financial Group so we could be together every

day? Tell Alexander to get the hell out. Once the wedding’s over, I’ll refer you for a job there right away!”

Otherwise, you’ll never get hired by a company that big!”

The doors burst open.

“Otherwise, what?” My father pushed through the crowd, furious. “You’ve got some nerve promising her a referral!”

“Brandon Miller, as of today, you’re fired from Bennett Financial Group!”
