High Paying Bounty for My Secret Husband’s One Night Stand? I Queted Chapter 11

The chat went silent again. This time, it was the kind of silence where you couldn’t even hear

anyone breathe.

[Mrs. Harrington has a bit of a temper. You ladies should be careful.]

After sending that, Alexander turned off my phone and tossed it aside.

“Now. No one is bothering us.”

He leaned down and kissed me, his dominant intensity brooking no refusal.

His hand found my waist, then slid upward.

The curtains were drawn.

The night blurred into chaos.

“Olivia, open the door.”

The next morning, I was still half-asleep when I heard frantic knocking.

I sat up groggily. Alexander was already dressed and walking to the door.

The door swung open. Jessica stood there, her face perfectly made up but twisted with fear

and exhaustion.

“Mr… Mr. Harrington,” she stammered, clutching a document.

Alexander looked at her like she was a piece of trash on his shoe.

“What?”

“Mr. Harrington, I’m here to apologize. Last night… I was out of my mind. Please don’t go

after Whitmore Real Estate.”

As she spoke, Jessica’s voice cracked, tears streaming down her face.

I walked over in my silk robe and leaned against the doorframe, looking at her. I didn’t feel much sympathy.

If I hadn’t fought back last night, she would have destroyed my reputation instead.

“Ms. Whitmore. Where’s all that fight from the socialite chat?” I asked, smiling faintly.

Jessica looked up at me. Jealousy flashed in her eyes, but mostly, there was fear.

“Mrs. Harrington, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know who I was messing with. I shouldn’t have said

those things in the chat. Please forgive me.”

Alexander didn’t even glance at her. He spoke to Daniel behind him.

“Take her out. I don’t want to see anyone from the Whitmore family at the bid today.”

“Yes, sir.”

Daniel grabbed Jessica like a ragdoll and hauled her away.

Her shrill screams echoed down the hall, then faded.

“Feel better?” Alexander turned to me, his eyes instantly softening.

I stretched lazily. “Not bad. Just makes me realize how toxic socialite circles can be.”

“You don’t need to be in a chat like that.”

He came over and tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear.

“You’re Mrs. Harrington. You don’t need to suck up to anyone. People come to you.”

I smiled. The weight that had been pressing on my chest for three years finally lifted.

At the bid, Harrington Group unsurprisingly won the Coastline Parcel.

Whitmore Real Estate, meanwhile, was disqualified due to multiple regulatory violations and

now faced bankruptcy.

When the news reached Eastbrook, the entire social scene was shaken.

Everyone finally realized that the mysterious, low-profile Mrs. Harrington was not a frump.

She was the jewel of Alexander’s heart.

On the private flight back, Alexander held my hand the whole time.

“I heard you’re planning to expand your company?” he asked suddenly.

I nodded. “That’s the idea. But I’m still a little short on capital.”

He pulled a black card out of his pocket and pressed it into my palm.

“Take it. Consider it Mr. Harrington’s compensation to Mrs. Harrington.”

I looked at the unlimited black card and teased him. “Mr. Harrington, are you trying to keep me as your mistress?”

He grabbed the back of my head and bit down on my lips.

“I’m married, didn’t you know?” His voice was rough, threaded with a smile.

“I’m not just keeping you. I’m keeping you forever.”
