He Used A Lottery Cup To Avoid Me, Only For Me To Mirror His Cruelty Chapter 06

“Suit yourself.”

I motioned for Jasper to drive.

He hit the gas, and Dexter tumbled to the ground. He scrambled up and chased after us, screaming.

I rolled up the window and shut out his voice completely.

“Dexter!”

Hadley ran up to him; her face streaked with tears. “Tell Simon the truth! Tell him we don’t know each other!

Please!”

She turned to Simon Adler.

“It’s all Fern’s fault. She’s making everything up. She’s mentally unstable. You can’t believe a word she says.”

Hadley was desperate to cut ties with Dexter.

She’d worked too hard to climb into a top family. The Adler family had already given her a three-million-dollar

gift. If she married in, she’d leap an entire social class.

“Don’t know each other?”

Dexter let out a bitter laugh, but when he saw Hadley’s tears, he hesitated.

“We… really don’t know each other.”

He forced a faint smile. He still couldn’t bear to see her hurt.

“Mr. Adler, my wife does have a habit of acting out. I don’t know what she told you, but you can’t trust her.”

Seeing Dexter protect her, Hadley chimed in quickly.

“Yes, his wife is a lunatic. She even threatened to jump off a rooftop!”

“Mr. Rawlings should know about that rooftop incident, shouldn’t he? She called you over a hundred times, and you never answered.”

Simon’s smile was cold.

“Did you know she miscarried that day?”

“You lost your first child.”

Dexter froze, his eyes wide.

“What did you say?”

Simon shoved a photo in front of his face.

The blood was horrific, and the miscarriage report made Dexter’s face turn ghostly pale.

“If Jasper hadn’t gotten her to the hospital in time, she would have died.”

“If Jasper hadn’t stayed by her side through the aftermath, she would have died too.”

Dexter started shaking uncontrollably.

He wanted to laugh it off, to say it was a joke, but he couldn’t produce a smile or a word.

“Jasper… I thought he was just some actor she hired to spite me. Mr. Adler, you’re a lawyer. You can’t just

make things up.”

Simon’s face remained neutral.

“I take legal responsibility for every word I say.”

That single sentence shattered the last of Dexter’s delusions.

So Jasper was real. So she’d been pregnant and lost the baby.

Which meant she was serious about not wanting him anymore.

A sharp pain lanced through Dexter’s chest.

“Mr. Rawlings, what were you doing when Fern was miscarrying?”

“1…”

Dexter couldn’t answer.

Because he’d been with Hadley, riding Ferris wheels, kissing her on mountaintops, traveling the world.

He’d long since forgotten the wife waiting at home.

“Do you need me to spell it out?”

“Fern gave me all the videos and photos of you and Hadley together. I didn’t realize strangers kissed and

slept together.”

At that, Hadley’s panic became impossible to hide.

“Simon, I-”

Simon cut her off, his patience gone.

“The wedding is canceled. The announcement has already been made.”

“The Adler family doesn’t accept women with a history of homewrecking and promiscuity.”

Those two sentences delivered the death sentence for Hadley.

Rejected by a top family, she’d never again get close to real wealth.

The shock was too much. She fainted on the spot.

“The transfers and gifts you gave Hadley will serve as irrefutable evidence of your affair. You have no chance in court, and the divorce agreement is already signed by you.”

“I suggest you give up and settle. Otherwise, the court has the authority to enforce the judgment.”

Dexter stood there in a daze, mumbling to himself.

“No. She won’t divorce me. She can’t live without me.”

“Hadley cutting me off doesn’t matter. I still have Fern. I still have Fern!”

He grabbed Troy’s shoulders like a madman.

“Tell the hospital to stop her mother’s medication. Now! Immediately!”

“She’ll come back. She won’t divorce me!”
