I answered. His voice came through hoarse and sobbing. “Aria, 

I was wrong. I had no idea that snake Skylar was cheating, she was pregnant with someone else’s kid.” 

“I messed up. Please. Give me one more chance.” 

“Is that supposed to matter to me?” I said, cold. 

He choked. “Aria, we had ten years. Can you really just throw that away?” 

“One more chance. We can start over. Please.” 

But there’s no cure for regret. 

“Landon, the moment you chose to betray me, we were finished.” 

“Whatever happens to your life now, good or bad, has nothing to do with me.” 

I hung up and blocked him for good. 

Landon’s ending was worse than I’d imagined. 

The company crumpled. He was buried in massive debt. His name dragged through every gutter. 

A pariah. 

And Skylar? Landon beat her so badly after learning the baby wasn’t his that she landed in the hospital.

The profile picture was a guy with a bright, easy smile.

I looked at the request and smiled. I placed my phone face–down on the table and let it go.
