He Said Don’t Wait, So I Married Someone Else Chapter 41

Garrett’s expression morphed from terror to pure, sputtering rage. “You think that can stop me? I’ll destroy both of you!”
“No,” a tired, old voice said from the doorway. “You won’t.”
Garrett’s father, the elder Mr. Whitaker, stood there. He was impeccably dressed, but his face was ashen, as if the life had been drained out of him. He had clearly come to rein in his son, only to overhear the most damning confession of all.
“You’ve done enough,” he said, his gaze a cold cocktail of disappointment and disgust. He turned to me and gave a slight, formal bow of his head—the deepest apology a man of his standing could offer. Then he turned back to his son. “As of today, your access to the family trusts is suspended. Indefinitely. You’re being reassigned to the European branch. You will stay there until you learn the meaning of responsibility and decency.”
Garrett had just been disinherited.

Over the next few weeks, a quiet earthquake rumbled through Charleston society.
Garrett was shipped off to Belgium and effectively vanished.
