He Pretended to Forget Me, So I Erased Him for Real Chapter 07

[Host, Julian Vane’s affection level has reached 80%. Please continue your efforts!]

I lifted my lips into a slight smile, twirling a pencil between my fingers. I added the final stroke to the sharp

jawline of the man on my sketchpad.

“This mission will be finished in no time.”

Suddenly, an anxious male voice rang out behind me.

“Elara!”

I turned around. A second later, I was pulled into a sturdy chest.

“It’s really you, Elara! I’ve been looking for you everywhere! Where the hell have you been this past year?”

The man held me with a tight grip, as if terrified I would vanish into thin air. I shoved him off with all my

strength, my brow furrowed as I appraised him.

My mind was a complete blank. I had zero memory of this man. But the raw, visceral joy in his eyes told me

our history was anything but simple.

“Who are you?”

The man’s face went frozen, his eyes wide with disbelief.

“Elara, what’s wrong? You don’t remember me? I’m your fiancé, Gideon Blackwood!”

The Oracle chimed in.

[Host, this is your previous target: Gideon Blackwood.]

“Oh… so this is the psychotic old prick who played me for a fool, nearly cost me a decade of my life, and had

that creepy thing going on with his ward.”

The System had given me a brief summary on my last failed mission to ensure I didn’t fall again. Instantly, a

wave of nausea washed over me. This scum actually had the nerve to call himself my fiancé

I met his gaze with clinical coldness and took a step back.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know you. Please keep your distance, or I’ll be forced to call security.”

Gideon looked at me as if I had stabbed him.

“Elara, I know you’re mad at me. I know I messed up. I shouldn’t have faked the resets… I shouldn’t have lied.”

“But my feelings for you were always authentic! Elara, I love you! Please don’t use this fake amnesia to

punish me, okay?”

Even without my memories, I couldn’t help but laugh at the sheer audacity of his words.

“You hurt someone until there’s nothing left, and then you claim you love them? Are you borderline, or just delusional? I can recommend a good psych ward if you need one.”

Gideon’s face turned ashy. He clearly hadn’t expected the woman who once lived for his every word to now have such a lethal tongue.

“Don’t be so cruel… I was just… emotionally stunted… I didn’t realize what I had…”

He reached out to touch my face. I immediately raised my pencil, the sharp lead pointed directly at his

throat.

Gideon stumbled back, his bloodshot eyes fixed on me. After a long moment, he forced a pained smile.

“Just give me a chance to show you. Your old number is disconnected… can I at least have your new one?”

He pulled out his phone, looking at me with pathetic expectation. I was going to refuse, but out of the corner

of my eye, I saw a man approaching.

He looked pissed

I smirked and took Gideon’s phone, slowly typing in a few digits. I had only reached the fifth number when a

hand reached out and slapped the device away.

The phone hit the pavement with a sharp crack, the screen breaking..

Gideon’s face flushed with rage. “Who the hell do you think you are?”

Julian Vane ignored him, his face red with indignation as he turned to me.

“Elara! You said you liked me! How could you give your number to some stranger on the street?”
