He Only Wanted His Foster Sister, Yet Burned For Me Instead Chapter 07

He Only Wanted His Foster Sister, Yet Burned For Me Instead Chapter 07

Yes, both the livestream chat and Hilary Sterling had completely miscalculated.

A guy who had just been in such intimate, frantic contact with me, whose soaring adrenaline hadn’t even begun to recede-how could he possibly have the spare mental capacity to focus on another girl? Especially when that girl happened to be his sister in name only.

Right now, Tristan Sterling’s feelings toward Hilary were a tangled mess of avoidance, internal struggle, and the gut-wrenching anxiety of a man terrified of his affair being exposed.

The one thing he wasn’t feeling was jealousy. After all, he had already surrendered his entire body to someone else; Hilary was merely sharing a kiss with another guy. What right did he have to hold it against her?

Hilary, entirely oblivious to the truth, was visibly shaken by Tristan’s cold indifference.

“Tristan, you’re acting weird.”

An elite heiress who had grown up worshipped by everyone around her couldn’t tolerate a single

fraction of neglect.

Much less when it came from the brother she had secretly loved for years but never dared to openly

claim.

With a dramatic sweep, she smashed every plate, bowl, and glass off the dining table.

The floor was instantly reduced to a disaster zone of broken shards and spilled food.

Standing right in the center of the wreckage, Hilary flashed a smile that was sickeningly sweet.

“Everyone else, get the hell out. I want to have a private chat with my dear brother.”

Both Julian Vance and I were promptly kicked out of the mansion. As we brushed past each other on

the way out, Julian lightly scratched the center of my palm with his finger.

I had a shift at a local coffee shop that afternoon, keeping me on my feet and running around until nine in the evening.

It wasn’t until the customers had finally cleared out that I had a spare second to unfold the slip of paper Julian had shoved into my hand.

It was a phone number.

Underneath, a line of text was scribbled: I understand you infinitely better than Tristan ever could.

Psycho.

I tore the note into microscopic shreds and hurled them into the trash can. Cracking my aching neck back and forth, I looked up and rapidly skimmed through the floating text of the chat.

[Guys, you will literally never guess what happened! This afternoon, the female lead straight-up confessed her love to the male lead!!!]

My interest was instantly piqued. Through the chat, I pieced together every single thing that had

gone down inside the Sterling estate after we left.

Hilary and Tristan had exploded into the most vicious argument of their entire lives. A heavy, suffocating wave of intense jealousy twisted Hilary’s stunning features.

“Where did that slap mark on your face come from? What exactly did you and that toxic bitch Maeve do in your bedroom?”

She threw every manipulative trick she had at her foster brother, trying desperately to test his feelings. Yet, in the end, she was the one who completely broke down first.

Tristan knelt down on the floor, methodically cleaning up the sharp glass shards littering the

ground.

“Hilary, calm down. Suddenly throwing out guests is incredibly disrespectful behavior.”

“You’re the one who’s not normal, Tristan! Are you in love with her? Otherwise, why would you defend her during lunch, and why did you personally carry her into your bedroom?”

Tristan let out a long, heavy breath, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“…Isn’t this exactly what you wanted?”

Hilary’s explosive momentum instantly withered by half. “You… you knew, brother?”

Then her voice shook as she asked, “When exactly did you find out?”

Tristan looked at her, his expression entirely deadpan and calm.

“I hid behind a fake online username and talked to you for two whole years. We shared our daily lives, bared our souls, and even though we were separated by a screen, we became the closest

people in the world to each other.”

“I finally built up the courage to meet you in the real world, only to find out you’d sent someone else in your place.”

“And you already had someone else by your side.”

Hilary finally realized an unvarnished truth.

She had played herself. One calculated move after another had completely broken past the boundaries of a harmless, toxic flirtation. She had entirely overlooked the fact that Tristan could

feel pain, that he could feel devastated.

In the end, the girl’s lower lip trembled, and she let out a pathetic whine.

“Fine, fine! I’m sorry, okay? I apologize!”
