He Missed My Emergency To Deliver Her Dog’s Puppies Chapter 08

“Everyone’s talking about us. That bitch Clara set me up. I didn’t know she’d already miscarried. She baited me. If she hadn’t, I never would’ve sent her that video. I handed her the ammo myself.”

Julian went still. When he looked at Stella, his gaze was lethal.

“You sent her the tape? Who the hell told you to do that?”

“And you said you saw Clara’s parents at the grocery store? They were already dead by then. So who exactly did you see?”

Stella’s expression faltered. She knew she’d messed up.

“I… maybe I was wrong. Maybe it wasn’t them.”

“And she started it! She called me, rubbed it in that you were putting everything in the baby’s name, said I was nothing but a toy to you. What was I supposed to do?”

“I just wanted to get under her skin… Julian, everyone online is calling me a homewrecker. You can’t just leave me like this.”

“The baby’s gone anyway. Why are you still hanging on to her? All she does is make your life miserable. I can give you children too. Divorce her. Be with me.”

She didn’t see it coming. Julian shoved her away.

“Don’t you dare talk about her like that! She’s my wife. She has every right to be jealous!”

“You think I don’t see what this is? You want my money. My name. You’re just using me to get what you want.”

“You really thought I’d leave my wife and let you have my child? I crushed a Plan B into your drink while you were in the shower.”

His voice was ice.

“I never loved you, Stella. The only reason I kept you around was because you reminded me of her. The way Clara used to be. Passionate, driven, chasing something. That’s all you ever were. A pale imitation of my wife.”

“Every time I went to you instead of staying with her, did she ever once come after you? Not once. I know your games, Stella. You were the one picking fights every single time.”

“I gave you money. I gave you attention. But marry you? Never. Not in a million years. Clara is the only wife I will ever have.”

“I’ve done more than enough for you. Don’t contact me again. And if I ever hear you say another word about her, I’ll destroy you.”

Stella stared at him.

She was too stunned to even cry.

Like she couldn’t understand how the man who’d been so obsessed with her just days ago could look at her now like she meant nothing.

Julian was already walking away. He didn’t look back.

A man in a tailored suit and wire-rimmed glasses stepped in front of him.

“Mr. Ashford. I’m Clara’s attorney.”

“Given the evidence of your infidelity, my client has instructed me to proceed with the divorce filing.”

The lawyer turned to Stella, still smiling.

“Oh, and Ms. Brooks, this concerns you too.”

“What… what does this have to do with me?”

“Every dollar Mr. Ashford spent on you during the marriage is classified as joint marital assets.”

“Meaning the real estate, the shop, every wire transfer, my client intends to claw every last cent back.”

Stella’s legs gave out. She hit the floor.

Julian looked like the ground had opened beneath him.

“No. No, she wouldn’t. I don’t consent to this. Get out of my way. I need to talk to her!”

The lawyer’s smile didn’t waver.

“One more thing. Clara wanted me to tell you not to bother looking for her. She doesn’t want to see you. Her flight left ten minutes ago.”

“Your consent isn’t required, Mr. Ashford. The court summons will arrive shortly.”

“I’ll see you both in court.”
