He Made My Wedding Dress Half a Size Too Small, Then Begged Chapter 08

He thrust a bouquet of flowers at me. “I’m sorry, Emma. Please come home.”

The crowd erupted in confusion.

“Emma? The one everyone called a homewrecker? She’s your wife?”

“And you―” They turned to Victoria. “You posted all those lovey-dovey photos, held a wedding even got a license?”

Liam stammered, “I only faked the marriage to protect Victoria’s reputation. It was all just for

show. She’s just a college friend, and she was there for our whole relationship.”

Everyone gasped at the revelation.

Victoria, cornered, went pale as paper. “That’s right… Liam was just helping me out. We’re not

actually together.”

Then she turned and fled the room, unable to bear the pressure.

Liam didn’t chase her. He kept holding out the flowers.

Emma’s face was completely blank. “I am not your wife. And I have no interest in being the other

woman.”

He looked utterly gutted. “Emma, Victoria and I were never real. I told you-it was just a

postponement. Look-” He gestured to the altered gown. “I fixed it. It’ll fit perfectly now. Please

forgive me.”

His voice was sincere, full of genuine regret.

But Emma looked at him without any expression. Memories from before flashed through her mind.

When the dress first came up small, he’d said, “Maybe the tailor misread the numbers. It’s almost the wedding-don’t be upset. Lose a little weight, and I’ll try to add some fabric.”

Later he said, “You’ve already dropped ten pounds-just five more. Let me get Victoria’s diet plan

for you.”

Then he’d forwarded her meal and workout guide and walked away without another word.

When she fainted from starvation, he’d helped her up and said, “Hang in there, Emma. I really can’t

change the cut. Just five more pounds-I believe in you.”

If he’d come to her with the fixed gown back then, maybe she would’ve said yes.

But now, staring at a dress that finally fit her size, she felt absolutely nothing.

And she’d already known about this so-called “apology setup” from Alexander.

She hadn’t planned to come at all, but she’d shown up anyway to make it clear-once and for all, so he’d stop bothering her in the future.

When she didn’t react, Liam lowered his voice and apologized. “Emma, I never wanted to lose you. I’ll clear everything up with Victoria online today. If you’re mad I didn’t tell the world you were my girlfriend, I’m sorry.”

He had someone record the entire scene and broadcast it live. The comments were all question

marks.

Alexander leaned in and spoke quietly. “Emma, my offer from before still stands. If you need me to,

I can handle Liam for you.”
