He Gave Me a Divorce, I Gave Him Ruin Chapter 17

“Be at the main gate in five minutes.”

After I spoke, I yanked my hand away from him as if I’d touched something filthy.

“What right do you have to ‘overlook’ anything?” I looked at him, my voice dripping with cold disdain. “You can use trust fund money to vacation with Chloe in Miami, but I can’t have a new friend?”

“Ethan, who in the world do you think you are?”

His face flushed with humiliation, and he rushed to speak.

“If that’s what this is about, I can break things off with Chloe!”

“That’s your business,” I said with a cold laugh, pulling Lucas toward the waiting car. “It has nothing to do with me anymore.”

“Amelia, you can’t do this to me!” Ethan yelled, chasing the car for a few steps before he was left standing in the street, watching us drive away.

He didn’t give up. He got in his own car and followed us all the way to the gate of my father’s estate.

After my car passed through the iron gates, his was stopped outside.

Ethan got out, furious and about to lose his temper, when he saw two figures waiting for him at the entrance.

My lawyer.

And our family butler.

The lawyer stepped forward and handed him a document, his face a mask of professional neutrality.

“Mr. Sterling, this is a restraining order, filed on behalf of Ms. Amelia Vance.”
