He Gave Me a Divorce, I Gave Him Ruin Chapter 11

Yes, that had to be it. She was just hiding out. Soon enough, she would realize she couldn’t live without the life the Sterling family provided.

He needed to talk to his lawyer, confirm the status of the divorce. Maybe there was still time to pause the proceedings.

The thought restored a sliver of his sense of control.

When the call connected, the family lawyer, Mr. Davison, sounded exhausted.

“Ethan, I just got out of a meeting with the trust committee.”

Ethan’s heart dropped.

“What happened?”

“What happened?” the lawyer shot back, his voice tight with anger. “The committee received anonymous materials detailing your misuse of the trust’s supplementary card. They’ve issued a formal warning and require a full explanation by next Monday. Ethan, what in God’s name is going on?”

Ethan froze.

A formal warning?

Anonymous materials?

He barely heard the rest of what the lawyer said.

“How is that possible?” he murmured. “How could she have proof?”

Amelia should never have been able to get her hands on those receipts, those records…

Then, in a flash, he remembered.

The day of Amelia’s father’s funeral. To cheer Chloe up, he had let her use the trust’s credit card to buy that obscenely expensive sapphire necklace.

Then Chloe had sent Amelia a selfie.

In the photo, she was smiling smugly, the necklace gleaming around her throat.

Ethan’s face darkened.

He immediately found Chloe’s number and called.

As soon as she answered, he asked coldly,

“Did you send Amelia a picture of that sapphire necklace?”
