He Gave His Password To Her And Lost His Future Chapter 06

Hazel buried herself in Julian’s arms, sobbing so hard she looked like the victim.

Julian immediately wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “What happened?”

One of the campus officers gave him a brief explanation.

Hazel instantly shook her head, crying even harder. “No! Vivienne cornered me outside! She hit me and tried to force me to break up with you!”

She yanked up her sleeve, revealing several bloody scratches she’d clearly made herself.

I stayed seated on the bench without saying a word.

My face still burned from the chili exposure. My throat was so swollen I could barely swallow. The sleeve of my sweater hung half ripped from my wrist, dried blood crusted over the scratches on my arm.

“Vivienne.” Julian walked over to me. “I want an explanation.”

I lowered my eyes and turned my body away from him, making no effort to hide my rejection.

“The security camera near the alley just happened to be broken,” the campus officer said with a sigh. “You’re all still minors, and honestly, it’d be best if this got resolved privately. If this ends up reported to the school board or put on record with the police department, it could seriously affect your college background checks.”

The officer slid a mediation agreement across the table.

Hazel clearly knew she was in the wrong. She signed immediately.

Only my signature line remained blank.

“Sign it.” Julian tossed a pen in front of me.

I didn’t move.

His expression darkened. He grabbed my wrist and dragged me toward the table before forcing me into the chair.

“So this was why you kept refusing to let me pick you up?” he snapped. “You were planning this the whole time. Vivienne, when did you become this vicious? Hazel has nobody except me, and you actually tried to force us apart with something this disgusting?”

“I already put up with enough when you kept controlling my life. Making me grind SAT prep, forcing me into extracurriculars, acting like you knew what was best for me.” His grip tightened painfully around my hand. “But this time? I’m not letting you bully her again.”

His fingers crushed around my wrist hard enough to feel like bone breaking.

No matter how much I struggled, it didn’t matter.

Under his force, my name ended up scrawled crookedly across the agreement.

Vivienne Winslow.

Julian handed the paper back to the officer before immediately shielding Hazel as they left.

As he walked out of the station, he threw me one last glance.

Cold wasn’t enough to describe it anymore.

It was disgust.

Sharp and vicious enough to finish off what was left of my already shattered heart.

The first thing I did after getting home was smash the birthday gift I’d prepared for Julian into pieces.

I didn’t need his approval anymore.

And he didn’t need my affection.

He already had Hazel.

On the day of Julian’s birthday party, I still showed up.

I sat alone in the corner of the Everett family’s villa while Julian kept glancing at me with visible irritation.

Everyone else had brought expensive gifts.

Meanwhile, I, the childhood best friend who had spent practically her entire life beside him, hadn’t even told him happy birthday.

“Julian!”

Hazel burst into the room pushing a giant birthday cake while holding up her phone, livestream still running.

“Guess what the ultimate birthday surprise is!”

The second Julian looked at her, his expression softened.

He walked over to her side and even smiled at the camera for the livestream.

I smiled too.

I smiled as I watched the entire disaster unfold.

“Julian, remember when you said we’d stay together forever?” Hazel shyly handed him an elegant little gift box. “I logged into your admissions account and withdrew your MIT acceptance for you. Then I enrolled you in the same community college as me. We’re officially attending together now!”

Julian’s smile froze.

“What… did you just say?”

Hazel excitedly opened the box.

Inside wasn’t jewelry or a luxury watch.

It was an enrollment confirmation letter from a local community college.

Printed clearly across the student name section was:

Julian Everett.
